The Crazy Bear is a decadent oasis in Stadhampton, Oxfordshire, offering grilled meats from our open chargrill, fresh fish and crustacea delivered straight from the boat (not markets), and seasonal vegetarian dishes. Our smoked products are smoked in our own smokehouse using pure oak. All of our Gloucestershire Old Spot Pork and Welsh Badger Face Lamb is reared at The Crazy Bear Farm, and all of our meats are butchered at The Crazy Bear Farm Shop.

Absolutely love this place. The food is amazing if a tad cold this time. And we did think the music was a bit loud. It won’t stop us from going though. Stunning

Wonderful food and service. Slightly disappointed in the small menu but guess that’s because of the present situation. Would certainly come back again. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited.

Food was excellent, couldn’t fault it . We had the Chateaubriand. Husband said it was the best steak he had eaten. Drinks are extremely pricey but perhaps that’s down south prices and not what we are used to. Service was initially slow. Had to wait 20 minutes for drinks. Bar in the restaurant not being used so staff were fetching drinks from the pub bar!!

Awful customer service - forgot we were in the bar waiting for our table. We had to ask to be seated. - carried our glasses by hand, at the top to our table (considering covid-19) - stood us to to go to table, but then started serving another party so we sat back down - when we asked the waiter to recommend some dishes, he had no idea, asked to see the menu and looked at it then read it to us - when our food came, we had to ask for our dinner plates - the bill was just put on the table like I was sat at Nando’s Horrifically over priced for the standard of service you get. If you like fine dining and an experience, do not go here! We complained on the night and were given 25% off the bill but won’t be going back

Despite Covid, the restaurant retains an ideal atmosphere for diners with plenty of natural space between tables. Some seriously excellent food as well, notably the Tomahawk steak which was amazing and good value also.

My partner and I had a great evening. Our first table seemed a little in the way of the staff, but it was changed upon request. The only issue was at closing time everything was rushed and you were usher out very quickly. I understand that in current times they had to close on time, but maybe worth starting the process a little earlier?
