One of Brighton’s new and glamorous culinary hotspots, GB1 is located within the iconic Grand Hotel Brighton. A short walk from Brighton Station and the city’s famous shopping lanes and exceptionally located along Brighton’s vibrant seafront. GB1 offers the south coast’s finest and freshest fish and seafood caught daily. A fantastic a la carte menu, specials from the blackboard and affordable set menus are available. Although fish and seafood dishes dominate the menu, seasonal meat and vegetarian dishes feature. The stunning central champagne and oyster bar, offers a more relaxed dining area in which to share a seafood platter and watch the expertly trained chefs prepare oysters and other fruit de mer. There are also private dining options within the sea facing terrace or GB2, ideal for canapé receptions or private celebrations. Whether you want a quick bite and a glass of quality champagne, a quiet dinner or celebratory feast, GB1 offers the perfect dining experience for all.

The seafood was very good - although was only just hot enough by the time it was served. Being allergic to seafood I had a mushroom starter ( very bland and not plated well) and chicken main course (disappointing). It would be good if there was more choice of non seafood dishes and vegetarian dishes to choose from.

I went for dinner with my elderly mother, we were treated so well, nothing was too much trouble. Loved the atmosphere and the food was divine. Can't wait to go back!

we enjoyed our evening at the Grand Hotel and GB1. however, several of our food choices were unavailable in the restaurant. All in all we had s pleasant evening with good food and wine in nice surroundings.

We were told at the restaurant they had not been informed by Opentable about the reservation causing embarrassment- fortunately I had an email on my phone. We were given a very poor table in the restaurant and the service was appalling.

A pleasant surprise, as we were expecting the restaurant to be a bit on the stuffy side and in fact it really was not like that at all. The staff were very well training, seemed genuinely intent on ensuring we had a good meal and they were knowledgeable about the food, what was good and what was less good to eat. The ambience was not brilliant when we got there at 7 but by the time we left at 9 it was really quite busy so we were clearly there a bit early. It is very much a smart affair and that in itself is quite nice as you don't get lots of people dropping in on a day trip to Brighton. Worth going

Not many other diners so not much atmosphere. Staff pleasant, seafood overpriced but tasty Lobster Thermidor and chips £45 per head (small). That's without oyster starters. Having eaten all round the world in seafood restaurants I would not rush back having said that if your staying in the hotel it's easy to dine there a stroll from the lovely bar.

From the most attentive and welcoming meeting to excellent service through out the meal without being instrusive . The food was served in a timely manner between courses . The food was excellent especially the starters we had... exquiste ...and with perfect serving sizes . The setting within the Grand was fantastic with beautiful views of the sea and shore . I can recommend this for any event from formal business meeting to family gatherings . The price higher than most local restaurants but when you take in the quality of food .service and environment it is the cost you are happy to pay . Highly recommended
