Our chefs are from Udupi, a small town in the coastal region of the Western Ghats, about 360km from Bangalore in Karnataka. At a famous temple there is an idol of Lord Krishna richly adorned in jewels. The town is a knowledged centre for authentic South Indian Cuisine. Udupi chefs are renowned for the cooking of traditional South Indian vegetarian food.

Sagar is a restaurant that is recognised as breaking new ground in the presentation of South Indian vegetarian dishes, including some which are new to this country.

Hidden off Tottenhamcourt Rd this is a real find with an extensive vegetarian menu. Vegan have a menu of their own which is an exciting option not usually available & there are plenty of dishes which overlap. The food is delicious & varied & the service was excellent.

This was our first time there. There was a great variety and choice on the menu. The waiter was helpful, polite and friendly. The food was really tasty. It was great value for money. We will be going back for sure !

From the moment we walked in, the waiters were very attentive. The smell of the place made us hungrier. Being from a South Indian background, i found the food to be as authentic and i couldn't fault it! Will be going back again very soon :-)

Visited this restaurant with a friend who is vegetarian. There were plenty to choose from for both starters and mains. We had puuri, lentil doughnut, poppadoms, saag paneer, sambar curry, and lentil pizza. Portions were just right - not too small, not too big. They were tasty especially saag paneer! Service was fine and pleasant. The restaurant looked recently refurbished too. Nice casual dinner choice for a friday night.

We were a group of 3 ladies for dinner. We enjoyed trying the vegetarian Indian dishes that aren't usually on the menu at typical Indian restaurants. It was much more interesting than just a "veg curry". We tried Dosa's and Uthappams (sort of like pizza and a burrito) and had a few starters. It was easy to share all of it.

I find it difficult to fault Sagar, any visit is always superb. The food is delicious, they have lots of vegan options, the staff are always helpful and polite and I believe it is incredibly good value.

Having spent a bit of time in Delhi I'm delighted to say that the food here feels very authentically Indian. The Dosa's are great, and HUGE if you want them. The service is quick and understated and the place is clean and simply decked out.
