Set in the village of Bramfield, The Grandison really stands out thanks to its beautiful alfresco dining terrace which overlooks the village cricket oval & playing field. It exudes calm and charm from the outset and as you step inside it has a welcoming and warm feeling. The bar and restaurant feature pale yellow walls and beamed ceilings, modern tables and chairs, and the simple lines and a lack of any clutter make it feel fresh and bright. A good selection of affordable wines by the glass paired with a fine array of continental lagers & 4 well kept real ales. Our food is fresh & inspirational, using the best local produce our team of talented chefs create mouthwatering seasonal dishes.

Used to come a lot, but had one little "bad experience" and left it for a little while. Friends wanted to try it so went on a sunday. Only one of us wanted a roast (it was a hot day) and he licked his plate clean (pork - not him, the meat of choice!). There was a burger which was devoured, a salmon and salad dish which looked superb but required a flavour to the salad dressing other than oil, and the veggie option for me was the Gnocchi, which had a really deep, tasty sauce. The outside setting as always is lovely and the service is very friendly and all smiles. Tables weren't cleared as quickly as we would like but this is a very minor complaint as regulars would keep staff talking and with outside and inside needing constant attention, it is hard to perfect. Desserts and starters were had too - I found the veggie options a little restricted with them both being cheese based, and I would never opt for a hot soup on a hot day, but all food was great tasting and we will return for sure.

We celebrated my wife's birthday with Sunday Lunch at the Grandison. Our daughter and her family joined us. The setting was great, the service was excellent and the food was wonderful. Many thanks to all the staff for making this a special day. The chef even wrote happy birthday in chocolate on my wife's desert plate and made custard specially for me.

We are always well looked after and really enjoy the experience at the Grandison. Despite the pub being very busy with a large party in the gardens we did not have to wait for service at any time. Sadly some of the dishes had run out but we still had a very enjoyable meal. The staff, as always, are excellent and could not be more attentive. The only problem is that because it is so successful it is often really busy and sometimes a quieter meal would be nice!

My friend and I made the mistake of booking on Fathers Day which we had not realised and ended up having to ask to be moved to another table as we would have had been disturbed by adult baby talk from the next table by parent and their small infant. As it was when we were reseated we were subjected to loud voices by older children trying to out perform each other. This pub does sometimes suffer from this as the tables are quite close to each other and sometimes has largish groups arrive for occasions. However the food and friendliness of staff is generally very good and we visit quite often and will go back again. On this occasion my friends Roast Beef, she thought, had been reheated in a microwave and was not up to the standard she expects. When the sun is out the garden is a great place to sit. In conclusion I would reccommend but possibly do not expect a nice quiet time.

Excellent food. Relaxed atmosphere. Not rushed through the meal. Flexible on menu adjustments. My wife requested a half portion of mussels for a starter. The Grandison were only to pleased to do this for her. No pressure to leave once the meal was complete. We went with a couple of friends and had a really enjoyable evening.

The food was great as was the ambiance but service was very slow indeed. We had to go and get drinks ourselves as nobody offered us one within the first 15 inures of sitting down. The same happened with all courses and our children even suggested asking where the food was. I think that this detracted from the meal itself which was very good. It felt as if they needed another member of staff as they were all very busy even thought the restaurant was not full. Staff were all very polite and helpful, just not enough of them! Would go again hoping this was a one off. Desserts were particularly good!

1stcourse Soup with artisan bread. The bread was just thick sliced white bread and looked like it was straight out of a packet. No choice offered as to granary wholemeal white brown etc 2nd course Pork and beef burger in bun with chips lettuce and tomato The chips were French fries which I hate as they go cold almost instantly. Fries were offered specifically on other menu items, so when the burger menu said chips I expected proper chips. The burger itself was under seasoned, dry, very thick and quite tough. I won't be eating here again
