We have been to The Lord Clyde on a number of occasions, and have always been impressed by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. This was the first time we had been for Sunday lunch. We ordered a range of starters, mains and desserts, and every course was delicious. The roast beef just melted in the mouth, and the Yorkshire puddings were huge; we were even supplied with extra gravy. The ambience was perfect. We paid just under £30 per head for three courses, alcohol and coffee, which is great value considering the quality of the food. Thanks very much for another great dining experience in Cheshire's finest restaurant.

We had a set menu in the afternoon. It was well presented with sufficient portion size and all for £32. They have an excellent wine list as well. Make sure you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

We went with the expectation that we were going to eat something we had seen on the online menu. It was a set menu for sunday lunch which was ok the food was cooked beautifully and fresh. When we asked about menu For another visit still the menu was different to online. When we enquired why we were told the menu changed all the time. Not sure it mentions this online i need to go and have a look. The service was lovely and very friendly staff but there seemed to be something missing. Maybe we need another visit before i can judge.

We visited on a Friday lunchtime, and had the tasting menu with paired wines. The food was excellent - some of the dishes were absolutely outstanding, and the paired wines were excellent too. Staff were great - exactly the right balance of friendly and knowledgeable, and very professional. The decor is a bit sparse, and they seem to just have the bog standard dark wood pub-tables, so the ambience could perhaps get warmed up a bit (metaphorically), but overall that's a small point in a generally excellent experience.

booked for my fiancés birthday, and after all the comments and reviews previously submitted I was keen to see what it was all about. We were the last sitting for the Sunday lunch hence the restaurant was quiet, would like to go again when busy and more atmosphere, but this did not deter from the spectacular food served, you can tell they take pride in what they do. The waitress was attentive and friendly and the quality of the food was first class. I had the hock starter with beetroot and chive mayo, it was a taste sensation, my other half chose the hot smoked salmon and I did pinch some for comparison, I could quite easily have devoured both. Our mains were the rib beef and Yorkshire pudding, again, fresh quality produce was in abundance and we filled ourselves with melt in your mouth beef and crispy puddings. the portions were more than ample, enough room left for a pudding!! I opted for the warm brownie, and it was so soft and yummy, my partner went for the crumble and the fruit content was a pleasant surprise, plump blackberries and juicy apples, along with a smooth custard flecked with vanilla. I would definitely be looking to return to this establishment, the wine and drinks were very reasonably priced and the waitress was friendly and personable.

I was expecting bistro pub food but found exquisite gourmet restaurant fare. This little gem of pub near Bollington was such a pleasant surprise. We chose a la carte but there were set menus available. Everything tasted wonderful and was well presented and the wine list was extensive. This place is expensive but is well worth it.

I took a friend out to dinner at the Lord Clyde as a birthday treat. We had the 5 course tasting menu - wonderful food and very good value. The lamb was particularly outstanding. I loved the casual cosy ambience -its a place which serves gourmet delights without the irritating snobbery that you often find in establishments offering this kind of menu. Service was friendly and helpful but became a little bit overstretched as the restaurant filled up. Book ahead as it is understandably popular. Can't wait to go again.
