   My wife and I did an overnight from Phoenix to visit this restaurant after seeing the awards it received from Open Table and the local Tucson gastronomy organization. Giving it a 4/5 broken down as follows… Decor - 4/5. Chairs are terrible. Go with a booth. They need to invest in cushions at a minimum for the seats Menu - 3/5 does not sync with website. My wife and I were disappointed to find what we chosen on the website was not available. Taste - 5/5 phenomenal oysters and the pork was cooked to perfection. Wine- 3/5 much of the wine is very young. Vintage available and what was on the menu did not match twice. Server failed to provide the reserve list which short changed their revenue and would have eliminated the returns due to vintage discrepancies. Service - 4/5. Server was attentive and knowledgeable. Aside from the wine mishap we were disappointed to have ordered 2 cognacs with desert. We received and finished the desert before the cognacs arrived. Not well timed. If you are local, it’s a must. I would not drive down for it again.

   Food was lovely. Charging 9 for 4 bread rolls for a table of five seems odd. We were the first table and the timing out of the kitchen was off. We had town identical entrees in the party yet one plate came out 10 minutes after the rest. The service was slow for additional beverages. Atmosphere was simple elegance.

   The crudo was good but everything else was somewhere between ok and bad. The food did not live up to the menu.

   Food was fantastic. Really delicious. Feels like there could be some weirdness with management or something... A lot of items were unavailable, even down to beverages. But I’d still say give it a try, the short ribs are damn good.

   We enjoyed everything, the friendly service, delicious dishes, ambience, and the fact that the restrooms were clean as well. It was a very nice family chew & chat. I rated the value “fair” because we ran about $100 for the 3 of us, could have been a little less for brunch, but I get it. It was “fair”. Well done and we’ll be back.

   Pluses and minuses. The roll appetizers is amazing. The spare rib good - mussels definitely a miss. Jalapeños extremely hot (and I grew up in az). Not the normal item in mussels, but probably should have tasted the jalapeño before using. The bread served with the mussels was burnt (after forgotten with the order). The server was obviously not happy being there. I had arranged a desert for my husband’s birthday and it was totally forgotten. We went here because they had duck confit. But they had changed menus and not updated the website.

   We have eaten here many times before but tonight we were disappointed. They were out of so many dishes and our reservation was at the beginning of dinner service. They didn’t have bread, they replaced the chicken with duck, but ran out of duck. My son ordered pasta and marinara from the kids meal and they were out of marinara. They were out of muscles. They have a smaller menu to begin with which we are fine with but when they’re out of several items it makes the menu minuscule. Service was sub par. Several dishes were incorrect. We had to ask for refills of drinks multiple times.

   Went to Augustin Kitchen with two friends from out of town . Their first time there. Both were very impressed. Food was excellent. Service was friendly but efficient. One of my favorite restaurants in Tucson.
