Delio Susi, in anticipation of his restaurant’s tenth anniversary, refined both his restaurant’s menu as well as its interior design, to great success. Losing none of his Abruzzi roots, the food is clean but clearly Italian, and a little rustic. The warm and inviting room makes the same statement. Drawing on his architectural background, Susi plays with simple organic materials, like square slate tiles and tabletops, and brown leather tufted banquettes. The use of brick plus copper fixtures contribute to the Italian country/casual feel that serves food and wine to match. Wooden floors and European style open windows for the summer add to this ambiance. And red lamps that hang in bright contrast with the earthy tones during the day, shed a sexy flattering nighttime glow. Amelia’s Trattoria offers a personal and authentic dining experience using top local ingredients infused with the heart of its Italian chef.

Had a fabulous dinner before a movie. Arrived early (before they opened) and were seated right away. I was able to order something not on the menu (yummy shrimp Fra Diavlo). Waiter was busy, but we were not ignored. Even fit in a quick dessert. Two thumbs up!

Both pasta dishes were overcooked and the gnocchi had quite a lot of sugar on them. The tiramisu was ok.

Decent Italian food by U.S. standards, but the service leaves much to be desired. The hall staff is often overwhelmed, unfriendly, and at times even hostile toward customers. The management also has its shortcomings. The music is frequently too loud, creating an unpleasant dining atmosphere, and the table arrangement is overly cramped, making the space feel uncomfortably tight. On busy days, they even place a table right at the entrance, which is both impractical and uncomfortable for guests. Additionally, the reservation system is poorly managed. Even after confirming a reservation change over the phone, it was not updated in the system, and instead of taking responsibility, the staff blamed the customers for the mistake. While the restaurant has a thoughtfully designed interior and the food is decent, the overall experience is disappointing. Given the service and management issues, it's simply not worth returning.

I came here about a year ago with my now girlfriend for a first date. I wanted to recreate that first date for Valentine’s Day and Amelia’s Trattoria was just as perfect as that day! Food was delicious, staff were fast and attentive, and answered all of our questions. Thank you for everything!

The food here is outstanding and service could not be better. Unfortunately, this popular restaurant chooses to pack far too many people into too small a space. They and their customers deserve larger quarters with more breathing room, not to mention an entry vestibule to keep winter winds out. My wife and I were seated inches from couples on either side of us. We could clearly hear and had to compete with every single word of their date night conversations. Exhausted from shouting to be heard over our neighbors, we skipped the tempting desserts and any plans to return until warmer weather makes outdoor seating possible.
