Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life.

Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor.

The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish.

We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.

Besides a little hiccup at the host stand with our reservation, our experience was top notch. Service at the bar with Brandon was attentive without being over bearing. His personality and hospitality were on point. The food was excellent and ambience was upbeat with cool touches of eclectic pieces like their oyster shell lighting against exposed brick in a historic building. Our visit exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be back:)

Amen Street was FABULOUS! My boyfriend and I came to restaurant week over the weekend. The food was EXCELLENT! My only critique is that it was a Saturday night and they were very busy and I only saw 2 servers in the back of the restaurant. Maybe there was more up front, but there were not enough servers. Also it took almost an hour to get our food, but again, super busy. Everything we had, including my mocktail, was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back!

The food is great.The service is fantastic, at least our waiter was. Sitting by the door is a little drafty, especially during winter time. Overall, great food.Great service.We did not feel rushed in least bit. I would recommend dining at this establishment.

We started with the premium oysters, which were incredibly fresh, briny, and perfectly shucked. They set the tone for the rest of the meal. For our entrées, we indulged in the shrimp and grits, which were creamy and bursting with flavor—true Southern comfort on a plate. The scallops were perfectly seared and paired beautifully with the seasonal vegetable risotto, which was both vibrant and comforting. And let me not forget the Amen Burger—juicy, cooked to perfection, and served with toppings that elevated it to a whole new level. The ambiance was inviting and full of Charleston charm, and the service was attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations.

Overall a nice experience. Fried oysters were very could. Shrimp and Grits, which were highly rated in reviews, were nothing special in my view. The grits, shrimp, and any thing else in the dish were completely covered in an excessive amount of cream sauce.
