    I wish I could write a glowing review of this restaurant, but unfortunately, I can not. I started with a 20 oz dry-aged rib eye and ordered it medium rare. After cutting into the ribeye, it was obviously overcooked to a medium temperature, with the steak being far too chewy for medium-rare. I told my waiter about the issue, and he took the steak back to the kitchen, no questions asked. Then either the manager or owner came to my table and said, "That's as medium rare as the steak is gonna get". He then offered to replace my meal with one of two smaller steaks or a pork chop. But, what left me most dumbfounded was his offer to bring the steak that had been taken back to the kitchen and examined by the waiter and chef and him back to me and let me eat it as my meal. This is insanely unsanitary and something that you would not even expect to see offered at Outback Steakhouse, let alone a high-dollar restaurant like Anson. I was left in disbelief by how this entire situation was handled and the refusal to make me a steak the way I ordered it. On a more positive note, the porkchop was very good, and the sides I ordered, brussel sprouts, and Greek potatoes, were fantastic. I wanted to love this place, but sadly, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth.

    LOVED it. The food was some of the best we've had in Charleston so far. Scallops were cooked perfectly, and the Lobster pasta was some of my wife's favorite. Servers were very professional. Overall a very good experience - we will go back.

    We had the best server anyone could have and the food was outstanding. I had the fried flounder which was fantastic. Highly recommend this place.

    We celebrated our Anniversary (53). The entire staff were very attentive , friendly and professional. Ansons is one of our favorite two restaurants in Charleston. Roger & Joey Pyle, Hickory, NC

    We recently celebrated my husband’s 60th birthday at Anson, as they have a fantastic menu, and the service is second to none. Our dinner was absolutely amazing, beginning with dirty martinis and oysters, for dinner the best whole fried flounder in Charleston, and ending with the most fabulous pecan pie. They made the night special, a memorable occasion.

    This experience was unlike any other! The service was top notch. Our servers attention to detail was unmatched. Then the cocktails were perfectly balanced and inventive. But let’s just talk about the food. Oh. My. Lord. I have not had food that was that delicious and flavorful in awhile. I mean short rib gnocchi? Perfect. The Filet was cooked perfectly and the bone marrow butter on top was some of the best tasting food I’ve ever had. Just make a reservation and go. Don’t think twice. And when you do, just know you’re talking to some of the nicest and most knowledgeable host staff in the state.

    A fabulous evening! Upstairs dining at Anson is a beautiful setting; our server, KJ, was excellent- knowledgeable, personable, had great recommendations; food was wonderful for all five of us. Highly recommend and look forward to our next visit.

    We had a fabulous anniversary dinner at Anson's. I'm not sure the name of the gentleman that welcomed us. But he was a true Southern gentleman -- very engaging, welcoming, warm, and kind. It really set a nice tone for the evening for me. Our service was fantastic; we were upstairs in a smaller room so the noise level was quiet. I loved the ambience; very serene and cozy. Our food was delicious; I haven't tasted anything that good in a long time (I had the sea scallops). My husband said the same about his halibut. Drink choices were plenty: beer, cocktails, and lots of wine! To top it off, we were treated to a final plate, with Best Wishes written in chocolate and some whipped cream beautifully displayed. Overall, fabulous evening.
