Antico Posto, “The Old Spot”, is an intimate Italian Cafe and Wine Bar carefully hidden in Oakbrook Center Mall. The neighborhood restaurant boasts a warm, and inviting atmosphere combined with simple Italian comfort food. Make yourself comfortable in one of the many booths, or enjoy the private dining space for celebrations and special occasions. House specialties include fresh mozzarella, hand-crafted pasta, brick-oven pizza and house-made gelato. The wine list features more than 30 Italian and domestic selections available by the glass, 1/2 bottle and bottle.                                                                               Jose is the best ! Had a great time! They were sweet enough to help me celebrate my birthday and bring me out a delicious dessert. My steak was amazing and the shrimp scampi was absolutely heavenly! Will return!

                                                                              A wonderful experience — despite being very crowded, our table was ready at our reservation time. All servers were very friendly, and assured us to take our time. When entrees were a bit delayed, server promised free dessert — unnecessary but very nice — and YUMMY gelato! She suggested the eggplant parm among the several veg options, and she was right — it was great, as was the beet/avocado salad. My husband felt the scallop special was a bit blah — the scallops were great, but the pasta was too plain. Thanks for a wonderful time!!

                                                                              First time at the restaurant. Loved the vibe and the service was terrific. Work lunch so we all at soup and salads, but everything was well prepared. Will definitely come back for dinner another time.

                                                                              We come here often because they have incredibly good gnocchi that melts in your mouth. Last night I had their seasonal spiced cranberry sangria which was also delicious. I gave it four stars because we know what to order and it’s usually consistently good on those items. However, there are areas in which this restaurant is only a 2-3 star. Service is often inconsistent as it was last night. We really never saw our waiter again after runners brought our food to the table and we had to get up and go to the hostess stand to ask them to find him so we could get more drinks. Some dishes here are very disappointing. The eggplant Parmesan for example is bizarrely flavorless and more breading than eggplant. Last night we tried the beef carpaccio as an appetizer and it was hands down the least flavorful and blandest carpaccio we’ve had anywhere. It literally tasted like nothing. They were out of the seasonal dessert last night as well which was disappointing. I should also add that portions here are quite small and expensive. The noise level here is robust so if you are looking for a quiet dinner, this isn’t it. You will hear a substantial din of silverware and every other diners conversation. Our group didn’t mind that energy but it’s not what everyone is expecting if they are hoping for something more intimate. Would we come here if it wasn’t for the gnocchi? No. Can you find better Italian elsewhere? Absolutely.
