Anton and Michel is now open INDOORS and OUTDOORS at the COURT of the FOUNTAINS.
LUNCH: 11:30 AM – 4:00 PM / DINNER: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
Reservations are highly recommended.

Since 1980, Anton and Michel has consistently maintained an award-winning reputation for true excellence in the art of fine dining. A complete interior remodel was recently completed features handset stonework throughout the restaurant. The floor to ceiling windows offer breathtaking views of the Court of the Fountains. Zagat Survey calls it: Carmel’s long-standing paean to graciousness in dining out. Along with updated and contemporary changes to the menus, ultimate table side service flambé desserts remain. As quoted in the Wine Spectator, Anton and Michel is “probably the best dining experience in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea”.

We were warmly welcomed at the front door by the host, and promptly seated in the location we had requested in our reservation. Our server was accomodating to our requests to share dishes and even split our entree, which was nice. The starter of gnocchi was delicious, creamy, and flavorful. The beet salad, on the other hand, was bland. The beets were tasty, but the dressing was like flavorless mayonaise, and the pecans, tomatoes, and cheese were equally lacking in flavor. For our entree we had the branzino fish, which was ok, but it was small and served whole...head, eyes, tail, bones, and all. We were surprised. We finished off our meal with creme brulee and capuccino, which were both delicious. Overall the meal rated a "meh" from us; we'll try someplace else in Carmel for our next special meal out. The restaurant was not at all crowded, but the two people in the bar were so loud with their laughter it sometimes was hard to hear ourselves.

Must come and vist Anton & Michel. Excellent service, menu, and ambience. This is one of my favorite restaurant and my friends and I come here regularly. Returning on the 27th for a birthday luncheon for 5 ladies.

Had a fantastic evening with my wife with excellent service. The staff was very accommodating of my wife’s dietary restrictions (she is pregnant) and we had a wonderful evening

We sat in the bar and watched the amazing bartender multitasking wine and dinner to multiple guests. Menu was good. Excellent bartender

Our waitress was amazing. The food selection was incredible. All four of us enjoyed what we ordered. Sitting out by the fountain was very peaceful and comfortable. Highly recommended.
