A modern take on the classic American steakhouse, Arroyo Chop House is one of only a few restaurants in Southern California that serves exclusively USDA Prime beef. This strikingly handsome restaurant, inspired by the Arts & Crafts architectural style for which Pasadena is famous, is clad in rich mahogany and the cozy booths are bathed in seductive light.

Our steaks are aged and hand cut daily and then perfectly seared in a 1,500 degree oven. Traditional steakhouse side dishes include creamed spinach, baked potatoes, asparagus spears with hollandaise sauce, and Arroyo Chop House's famous onion rings. We also offer live Maine lobster and fresh fish, Alaskan King Crab legs, fresh oysters, and shrimp. Compliment your meal with a bottle from our award-winning wine list and finish the night with one of our delicious desserts such as a Grand Marnier soufflé, warm apple pie, butterscotch pudding or chocolate pecan pie.

I went here for my birthday. I was really hoping to get something stellar and the reviews and price were indicating something special. I ordered the filet mignon, and it was mediocre at best. I’ve had better steak at Texas Roadhouse. Under seasoned, no trace of garlic or butter and no red whine sauce with mushrooms or anything. I’ve been cooking my own steaks for years and I can make something much better with $20 and a cast iron pan. You really can’t justify the price with the lack of flavor on that plate. The waiter was incredibly good and his work should not have to make up for a distinct lack of flavor. Make better steaks, Jesus.

Amzing how consistent their food is. Been coming here for 30 years and it’s as good now as it has always been. Service is friendly, efficient, and professional. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for a steak in Pasadena.

All was great. For a steak house the steak could have been better prepared. Still tasted great, the parts that were well prepared. Truly everything else was great.

Our service was rushed and cold. We couldn’t get a word in edgewise. He spoke too fast, was not too clear and it seemed like he wanted us in and out. We also could believe that the bar did not have peach liquor. We have been there multiple occasions and you have always had peach liquor. Why didn’t our server at least go check? The gentleman who cleared and packed out food was absolutely fantastic. Very kind and helpful. Maybe he should have been our server.

Arroyo chophouse was an exceptional experience. We had high-quality food with the best service combine. It makes it one of a kind restaurant to experience, especially for the holidays where they have Christmas carols singing next to you on your table.

the ambience was great, esp. for Christmas. the restaurant was filled but still relatively quitet, which was amazing. ... the steaks were beyond excellent, esp. the filet Mignon . highly recommended.... everything from the cocktails to the service to the food was perfect
