Went there after a gap of several years with a good friend, after a successful bet meant that my curry was going to be free! Weather was shocking but the warm atmosphere generated by the good Monday night crowd and the friendly service team , ensured that the night was a great success. As usual the food was impeccable and brilliantly tasty, struggled to eat all of it, but was prepared to give it my 'best shot'. Would recommend by-passing the many similar establishments on Brick Lane and just head on over to the Bengal Tiger for a great Curry experience.

The food was ok - I've had better to be honest. We had friends from abroad come to visit and wanted them to experience a Brick Lane currey. The service was what really frustrated me as we were hassled to pay and leave after an hour (and a really empty restaurant) and when we tried to ask for a coffee and dessert menu were told that they didn't serve that.

Bright and pleasant inside, menu gave some speciality Bangladeshi options. I tried the Lamb Shakora which I highly recommend. Food was not too spicy but may depend on what you order. Wine options were good brands, polite friendly service. Would definitely come again.

Decide to go for some Indian food and wanted to explore the scene around Brick Lane. The word was that this restaurant was one of the better ones, so we decided to give it a try. Because we would be checking out the nightlife, we booked our reservation for after eight. As we walk to it, we passed many places that were empty or half full and expected that would be true of Bengal Village. To our pleasant surprise this was not the case. The place was filled with dinners bringing a nice energy to the room. We began and were greeted with Popadoms and chutneys. Next came Samosas, meat and vegetable, the meat ones had nice heat to them that did not over power, while the vegetable ones had little heat and were more perfumed. All and all a nice contrast between the two. For our mains, we ordered the Chicken Tikka Cham Cham and the Lamb Achari. The chicken had a nice sweetness to it, with just enough heat, in short, it was balanced. The flavours of the Lamb Achari, were more pronounced. The had more heat to it and a note of cardamom. The seasoning of the dish offset the lambs meatiness without taking away the flavour of it. The meats of the Cham Cham and the Achari were both cooked to perfect tenderness. The dishes were accompanied with a side of rice and nan bread. Our waiter was pleased when we balked at the offering of a garlic bread, opting for the traditional nan instead. Throughout the night we found the waiters to attentive and helpful, if not a bit rushed. Then again, when left the room was just as crowded, with tables in demand. Clearly the Bengal Village has earned a well deserved reputation for its food. Dinner for two, before drinks and tip: £36.60

They were prepared for our arrival. Great recommendations from the menu with warm service throughout. The food was of an excellent quality and hands-down the finest curry I have tasted to date. The atmosphere was perfect for having a conversation and I will be recommending it to friends and family when asked.

I was tasked with finding a good Indian restaurant in Brick Lane for our department night out amongst the many and after researching online having found good reviews and a good hygiene rating I settled on Bengal Village. With 15 colleagues all looking to judge my choice of venue I'm very pleased to say the restaurant did not let me down. The service was very friendly and welcoming and the food was good quality and tasty with some dishes not commonly seen elsewhere. They even made us fresh Indian desserts including jalabi and ras malai. If you are looking for a good option amongst a sea of average restaurants on Brick Lane you won't be disappointed here.

I took my parents to Brick Lane for the first time in their life - they are visiting from Germany. It was fantastic service and delicious food plus generous portions. Great!
