   We love having celebration dinners at Benihana. Our server was wonderful and attentive. Chef Shane was engaging, professional, fun and above all the food was superb! We will most definitely be back.

   Our chef Rob was the best! Not only did he have good quality dad jokes, but he cooked everything to perfection and at the same time put on a great show! My party and I got the opportunity to order from their limited 6-course WAGYU experience, highly recommend! It was a great experience!

   Benihana has taken a turn. Our 7:15 reservation did not get sat at a table until closer to 8pm. Our chef did not arrive then until around 9pm. I don’t think we ate until 9:30, with main protein served closer to 10. This is pretty unacceptable for a 7:15 reservation. Also i felt that appetizer plates and empty drink bottles could have been cleared much more quickly as they were crowding the small dining area for far too long. Drinks were served very slowly. Courses were served out of order. Orders were not properly recorded or delivered. Cleanliness as a whole seemed poor. The staff were stressed and struggling, but it seems they are not to be blamed. They did their best to make up for all of the issues. Our tablemates almost left before the chef arrived saying they’d prefer to celebrate a family birthday at Burger King than to wait any longer. Staff let us know that Benihana was purchased last year by a new entity- who thought it would be a good idea to keep reservations open to max capacity at any given time. All of the above issues make sense… what a huge failure on the owners part. The experience was truly ridiculous. Benihana WAS a cherished family tradition, but i honestly don’t know if i will ever go back. What a joke.

   We got seated right on time, but we had to wait almost an hour and a half to get our cook to our table and start preparing our meals. Not sure what was going on, but it took forever for them to get our food out.  Our server knew we were getting impatient as he kept on saying the cook will be right out 4 times. Saying, He’s preparing your orders, oh he’s just preparing the cart to bring out. We finally got to start eating 1:45 after we got sat. Obviously short staffed but if they were honest and told the truth, then we would be ok. But to make up excuses that our food has being prepared and soon to come out is not acceptable

   I am a fairly regular customer of this BENIHANA location (being the Most Northern Western location in the Continental United States), and my visit on this go round was interesting. When I walked up to the Front Desk, there was a new employee (New Assistant Manager???) doing a really poor impersonation of Governor Tim Walz (i.e. Claiming he was a former High School teacher as one of his similarities, but certainly not as likeable). This new guy was explaining (making excuses) that all seating appointments were late due to a unforeseen calamity and so I needed to wait 30 minutes for my appointment to be honored. I waited the 30 minutes and then asked for an update, he began to restate the reasons why the delays were occurring… I asked when I could be seated for my reservation which turned into a debate… he finally capitulated and sat me at the table. (*NOTE TO MANAGER: I never had to negotiate with this much effort, just to be seated at a table for a reservation as I did on this particular visit… Also, having to deal with this particular, gentleman was very irritating. I advise that you DO NOT have him directly interact with customers because he lacks the skills to do so) The Waitstaff lady who went by the name of Yumi, did an excellent job taking care of myself, and the other customers at our table during the entire visit once we were seated. Also of note was the Chef who came from California to provide support for a few weeks, his name was Lester, and he did an outstanding job of preparing our food to be efficiently cooked in a fantastic visual demonstration that could be described as flawless! In fact, I would say that this was the best quality food that I have enjoyed this location in over a year! Together Lester, and Yumi made sure that everyone was completely satisfied at our table. I will definitely be coming back to this location for another fine dinner, I just hope not to have to deal with the older gentleman at the front desk again .

   We waited over an hour for the chef to even arrive at our table. At 2.5 hours, we asked for the check and left without dessert. Everyone was very kind, but overall, the evening was a miss for us.

   We ate here February 1st for my sisters birthday and February 28th for my birthday, and these were two completely different experiences.. I made a reservations 2 weeks ago and we still had to wait 30 minutes to eat past our reservation time, with no heads up via txt or call before we arrived. on February 28th: our veggies were undercooked, our chef rushed through our meal and did not engage with us, our server was unkind, and again, we were rushed through this experience. I have been coming to Benihana for over 20 years and I am so sad to say that this experience was beyond disappointing.

   Our chef was Sam, and he was amazing. Very interactive and cooked every meal at our table perfectly. Can't wait to go back.
