I was excited to bring two of my best friends to this restaurant because I had previously had such a great experience several times. This time, our waiter continued to forget small requests and I think, because there was a large group in another room, our food was only average. I was disappointed.

The atmosphere was nice, and the staff all very friendly. The appetizers (pate and oxtail raviole) were very tasty. The server didn’t seem to know a lot about the wine list and mostly just read it back to us when we asked for recommendations. Entrees (salmon and baked flounder) were beautifully plated but their flavors did not live up to the plating. We had blueberry sabayon for dessert and that was very good. Overall everything was fine but for the price we paid expected better than that.

Even though we had an existing open table reservation for 2:30 PM we were turned away. We arrived at 2:34 PM and we had called the restaurant to let them know we’d be a few minutes late. They said they did not have a reservation for us and that the kitchen was closed. About five minutes after we left the restaurant we received an email from OpenTable asking us why we didn’t show up for our reservation.

Best quality restaurant in Richmond, Virginia, hands down. We have never had a disappointing experience.. Love the many steak/meat options. Any fish on the menu is always perfectly cooked, dressed and presented. The salmon is wild, organic, rarely found in other places . Get any of the house made desserts, creme brulee, chocolate mouse to die for. Excellent restaurant.

We had our waiter forget to put in our appetizer and we got it after the meal. There were no apologies, it was boxed up and we still had to pay for it.

On a Thursday night it was empty. Main course (rockfish) was delicious, staff was great. Had the carbonara app that was very bad tasting, but they took it off the bill, so overall happy.

We and many other diners at Bistro Bobette had an outrageously poor dining experience on Christmas Day (2019)! The service was unbelievably inattentive and inept. The food was only ok. Do yourself a favor and read the recent reviews on Yelp and Google before making a reservation here. You will easily see what is going on at this place with poor reviews on the service, cuisine, and the chef-owner’s attitude toward diners. It’s too bad...this was one a very fine restaurant. Our last 3 visits have been increasingly worse.
