Chef-owned, Blades' Bistro features innovative international cuisine known for its open kitchen, quality menu offerings, and attentive service in a casual, country setting. Specialties include Grilled Salmon, Chicken Française and Roasted Beets topped with Goat Cheese, Fried Calamari and world class French Onion Soup along with salad courses, daily specials, seasonal entrees, and homemade desserts. The owners are committed to use fresh ingredients and support their Local Farmers whenever possible. Look for exciting Wine Dinners pared with wines from regions from all over the world. Blades' Bistro is a classy blend of classic, whimsical; it is an oasis of sophistication thriving in Placitas. Everything about Blades' Bistro is nicer than you expect, in the best possible way.               We do not mind paying more for a restaurant meal, if it was good. However, Blades disappointed us New years Eve. The Service was very good, "Nick," was our server, but the food preparation was very much to be desired. For the price paid, it was terrible. Here goes... My very very small portion of Black Bass was mushy and over cooked. It was covered with a thick sauce so the fish could not even be seen or even tasted. My wife's Scallops was much the same. Again, the sauce was the same as on my Bass, thick. The accompanied rice was very salty, making it almost inedible. The Bread Service was a bowl of sliced baguettes cut so long ago they were hard and dry. With it was a little cup with maybe a tablespoon of olive oil in it. We were going to have dessert, but said that's enough, lets go home. Anya, your front of the house was fine as always. Kevin, you can do better with the kitchen.

              Blades is our favorite restaurant. We brought a guest from out of town again (who we really wanted to impress), and the team at Blades always makes us look great. Our waiter Nick remembered us from last time and took great care of us as usual. Chef Kevin and Anja have a very special place. Get there ASAP!

              The Alaskan cod (butterfish) was terrific and the wedge salad was really good. Unless you have a good appetite the salad is definitely shareable.

              We chose to dine at Blade's Bistro with our daughters who were visiting from out of state, even though it had been a while since my wife and I had patronized the establishment. We were met by a very friendly young lady who promptly seated us at a table set for three instead of four as reserved via Open Table. She quickly remedied the issue. Our waiter, Nick, introduced himself and set us off on a dining experience we will not soon forget. He displayed great humor, had good banter with the table and was so knowledgeable of the menu items and specials for the evening. He even talked us through the NM liquor options available for drinks. From the appetizers to the main courses ordered through the deserts, everything was excellent! I highly recommend Blade's for a wonderful night out.

              This is a beautiful small bistro. Excellent food and ambience! It’s a favorite spot for us to go for a lovely meal in Placitas (5 minutes off the I-25 exit…very easy drive). I give Blades the highest recommendation!
