We asked Heroine in Heels – finance analyst by day, blogger by night – to round up her favourite food spots for City workers. Her lunch choice, One Canada Square, is a great option for Canary Wharf locals and while The Wolseley isn’t actually in the City, we agree it’s perfect for business breakfasts.
If you’re craving steak, check out The London Foodie’s review of May Fair Kitchen at the MayFair Hotel. His verdict? ‘May Fair Kitchen offers some of the best grilled steaks, fish and seafood in London. A perfect meal here starts with a platter of freshly shucked oysters…finishing with their 20oz, grass-fed, 28-day aged, all singing, all dancing, single rib steak, heaven! Recommended.’
Over on ForkTalk, Esjay visited Fortnum & Mason’s Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon for an afternoon of scones and sandwiches. With its slick service and resident pianist, it’s a great place to impress out-of-town guests.
The Glasgow Food Geek rounded up her top spots for brunch, including the excellent Hutchesons, and back in February she reviewed Tiki Bar & Kitsch Inn – a wallet-friendly spot for Thai food and cocktails.
If you’re local or passing through Manchester this month, you can feast on steak and seafood at the slick new Hawksmoor on Deansgate. It’s already had great reviews from local bloggers Bacon on the Beech, The Monochromes and Gabriella, who loved the lobster.
