Have you got a family of fussy foodies to feed this week? Relax – we’ve got you covered. We’ve rounded up five London restaurants that kids (and growns ups) will love, including two where kids can eat for free.
Heddon Street Kitchen – At Gordon Ramsay’s West End restaurant, kids can dine for free from a menu created by his daughter Tilly. Choose from dishes like rigatoni bolognese, fish and chips, and sticky chicken wings but save room for dessert – make-your-own ice-cream or the legendary Ramsay Whoopie Pie.
Senor Ceviche – At this colourful Peruvian restaurant in Soho, adventurous eaters can get stuck into pachamanca pork ribs, chargilled chicken skewers, and tempura squid, prawns and cod with jalapeño mayo. If your kids like sushi, this is a great place to introduce them to ceviche.
MEATmission – Got a little burger connoisseur to impress? Head to Hoxton for some of the best in town, plus tasty extras like Monkey Fingers, fried pickles and chili cheese fries. Best of all, during half term kids eat free (or adults can claim a free drink) if you dine before 6pm.
Pizza East – Forget the pizza mega chains, kids will love the grown-up buzz of Pizza East in Shoreditch, Notting Hill and Kentish Town. Order a few pizzas and salads to share or go for family favourites like lasagne and mac ‘n’ cheese. Don’t leave without trying their salted caramel chocolate tart.
Inamo – At this pan-Asian gem in Soho, the menu is projected on to the table so that kids (and grown ups) can use the touchpad to place their order, choose a tablecloth and play games. Dishes are designed for sharing so you can order a mix of classic crowd-pleasers like green Thai curry, dim sum and duck with pancakes.
