Five of the best London pop-ups to try in June

Despite the occasional rainy day, it’s really starting to feel like summer. Time to swap those cosy nights in for picnics in the park, cocktails by the river, and laid-back lunches in the sunshine. If you’re looking for somewhere new to dine this month, check out one of these London pop-ups where great food and good vibes are guaranteed.

Terrazza on the Thames

Drink and dine in style this summer at Terrazza on the ThamesBolla Wines pop-up riverside terrace at Columbia Restaurant in Docklands. It’s open daily from 4pm serving wine, Prosecco and Italian-inspired cocktails like ‘One Night in Venice’ – a refreshing mix of gin, Prosecco, lemon, mint and elderflower. If you get peckish, there are pizzette and antipasti, or you can take the RB4 river bus across to Canary Wharf and dine at Roka, Big Easy and Chai Ki.

Rio De Gun-Eiro at The Gun

Ahead of the Olympics, award-winning gastropub The Gun has transformed its riverside marquee into a Brazilian beach bar pop-up, Rio De Gun-Eiro. From now until the end of September, The Gun and beer brand Sol invites guests to relax in the sun-soaked oasis kitted out with colourful deckchairs and tropical plants. Grab some snacks from the BBQ and enjoy cocktails like the Grapefruit Caipirinha, Watermelon Martini, or the Tiki Tai made with Kraken spice rum, Koko Kanu, lemon, pineapple and orange juice.

Fowl Mouths Food at The Table Café

Following the success of their residency at The King & Co in Clapham, Fowl Mouths Food are hosting Friday night kitchen takeovers this month at The Table Café near London Bridge. Priced at £35 a head, the four course menu will feature Japanese comfort food dishes like teriyaki chilli wings, kara-age chicken with wasabi coleslaw, and indulgent chocolate sesame balls with matcha ice-cream. Booking is essential – get your tickets now!

Pergola on the Roof

Pergola on the Roof is London’s newest rooftop dining destination – a huge food court set 170-feet-high under a canopy of flowers. On the roof of Television Centre in White City, there are two bars, 400 seats, bookable day beds, two  boules pitches and a retractable roof in case of rain. Best of all, there are four kitchens run by top London restaurants – Rabbit, Salt Yard, Patty & Bun, and Le Coq. Get some friends together, bag a day bed, and feast on scallops, pork belly, rotisserie chicken and more. Top tip – sign up to the visitors book on their website and get a free drink on your first visit.

Spanish Terrazza Gin Garden at Camino Bankside

Camino Bankside are launching a fantastic new summer terrace on June 9th that sounds like the perfect place to soak up the sun. There will be Spanish-inspired furniture, a dedicated Gin Bar serving six specially selected gin and tonics, and a large screen showing all of the big summer sport events. If you’re peckish, head inside for croquetas, arroz negro, and hand carved jamón. Follow @CaminoLondon for details of their Paella Masterclass on July 23rd and their gin tastings in August.
