Restaurant Magazine revealed the top 100 restaurants in the UK at a Champagne-fuelled awards ceremony in London last night. The National Restaurant Awards, now in their 10th year, are voted for by an expert panel of 180 chefs, restaurateurs, food writers and critics.
The Sportsman in Seasalter took the top spot for the second year running, followed by London’s The Ledbury in second place. It was a particularly special night for A Wong in Victoria, who jumped from 19 to 3 in the list, and The Lickfold Inn – winner of the Fit for Foodies award, which is based on reviews and ratings from OpenTable diners.
Interestingly, this year’s list recognises a number of casual dining restaurants – such as Padella, Blacklock, and El Pastor – alongside the more formal fine dining destinations. Big Hospitality also noted the influx of new wave Asian restaurants like Som Saa, Kiln and Bao.
