On June 5th, some of the UK’s top chefs will gather at The Gun in Docklands to take part in the annual Slider Decider. From the huge number of entrants that fought to make the shortlist, sixteen have been selected to fight it out in front of a panel of judges.
Tickets to attend the culinary battle cost £15 and include a bottle of Hobo beer and two of The Gun’s own sliders. Throughout the evening, the contestants will be holding live demos giving guests the chance to taste their signature slider creations. This year’s entries include:
— Opera Tavern – Iberico pork slider with lobster, fried courgette, nduja aioli and a saffron bun.
— L’Anima – Beef slider with burrata and smoked aubergine compote.
— Boisdale – Surf & Turf: Aberdeenshire prime rib, pulled lobster, spiced chilli, and tempura po’ boy oysters.– Hixter – Glenarm Estate mighty marbled salt-aged butler steak slipper.
— Brindisa – Blanco y negro burger: white butifarra sausage and black pudding with mushroom mayo.
— Mews of Mayfair – Beer-fed Dexter beef with smoked brisket, Ogleshield croquette and tomato jam.
