We’ve got a fantastic batch of OpenTable newcomers this month, including some of London’s hottest new openings and dining destinations in York, Bristol and Edinburgh.
The Ivy Kensington Brasserie – The latest addition to The Ivy‘s empire is this casual all-day restaurant on Kensington High Street. It’s a top spot for an indulgent weekend brunch or a light supper after a day of shopping. Their terrace will be perfect for alfresco dining in warmer weather.
Bellanger – The team behind The Wolseley and Brasserie Zedel have opened a traditional French brasserie overlooking Islington Green. Bellanger is open all day, serving classics like Coq au Riesling, cod à la Grenobloise, and tarte flambée. Save room for their decadent desserts and ice-cream coupes.
Vico – Bocca di Lupo’s little sister, Vico, serves delicious Italian dishes in the heart of the West End. Pop in after work or before the theatre for pizza, antipasti and Prosecco on tap in a piazza-style setting.
Shackfuyu – This former pop-up from the team behind Flesh & Buns is now a permanent fixture on Soho’s Old Compton Street. Don’t leave without trying their famous kinako French toast with green tea ice-cream.
The Ninth – At his new restaurant in Fitzrovia, chef Jun Tanaka offers simple but refined French Mediterranean dishes, all made for sharing. It’s already had rave reviews from OpenTable diners.
Also new in London: Upper Street’s Chinese Laundry; Chelsea steakhouse Orange Elephant; House of Ho; Donostia Social Club; Casa Cruz; and M Grill Victoria. (Plus even more here.)
The Refectory Kitchen – Restaurateur Des McDonald (Vintage Salt, Holborn Dining Room) has launched a stunning restaurant, bar and terrace in York. The menu champions local, seasonal ingredients in dishes like smoked wood pigeon, East Coast slip soles, and rump of Yorkshire Dales lamb with hot pot potatoes.
The Printing Press – For killer cocktails and hearty Scottish dishes, look no further than this buzzy bar and kitchen in Edinburgh. Splash out on their Josper-grilled steaks and expertly prepared Martinis.
The Epicurean – Catalan chef Sam Bacha has brought the fresh, sunny flavours of the Mediterranean to Edgbaston. Expect colourful, flavour-packed dishes paired with thoughtfully chosen wines.
Aveika – At this modern Japanese bar-restaurant in Newcastle, you can sip cocktails until the early hours and enjoy freshly made sushi, soft shell crab tempura, and delicious robata-grilled skewers.
Wallfish Bistro – Perfect for lunch or a relaxed dinner for two, this Clifton Village bistro showcases the finest West Country produce in simple but delicious dishes. If you like seafood, you’ll love it here.
