Social Wine & Tapas – At Jason Atherton’s newest restaurant, you can treat someone special to an evening of wonderful wines, cheese and charcuterie, and modern tapas-style dishes made with British ingredients.
J Sheekey – Celebs and foodies flock to this iconic seafood restaurant to feast on oysters, grilled Dover sole, and their famous fish pie. It’s perfect for a pre-theatre supper and if you visit for lunch (Mon-Fri) this month, you can enjoy 2 courses and a glass of wine for £23.50 if you book with OpenTable.
Paradise Garage – Fans of The Dairy and The Manor in Clapham will be heading east this month to try chef Robin Gill’s new restaurant, Paradise Garage. The £45 tasting menu is a real treat for adventurous diners.
Lotus – At this contemporary Indian restaurant near Leicester Square, diners can enjoy show-stopping dishes like spiced red snapper kebabs, venison rogan josh, and lobster and scallops in a coconut curry sauce.
Morden & Lea – Mark Sargeant’s new Soho restaurant is split across two floors, with downstairs serving snacks and charcuterie and upstairs serving a modern British brasserie-style menu (3 courses for £35).
Bo Drake – For dinner with a difference, head to this East Asian BBQ joint on Soho’s Greek Street for cocktails and inventive small plates. Don’t leave without trying the smoked bobo chicken with spicy pear mayo.
Also new in London: Nordic smokehouse, Rok; NY-LON at The O2; Tartufi & Friends, and two new barbecue joints – Austens and One Sixty City.
Umami Indian Kitchen – This Harborne newcomer has already won over the locals with it’s huge cocktail menu and delicious dishes like Cochin fish curry, chicken chettinad, and Mangalorean pepper scallops.
Harajuku Kitchen – Enjoy dishes like prawn tempura, chicken karaage and katsu curry with sake and shochu cocktails at this relaxed Japanese bistro in Edinburgh. Locals love the freshly prepared sushi and sashimi.
Pom’s Kitchen & Deli – This family-run gem in Lichfield is open all day serving breakfast, deli boards and sandwiches, and hearty mains made with local ingredients. Save room for dessert – they’re fantastic!
Pruno – Promising fresh and flavoursome food in a relaxed atmosphere, Pruno in Liverpool is ideal for laid-back lunches and date night dinners. Prices are refreshingly reasonable and kids are welcome too.
Cedar Food and Drink – Also in Liverpool, Cedar Food and Drink specialises in modern British food cooked on their charcoal INKA oven and their bar stocks over 40 different types of gin. (Expect killer gin and tonics!)
El Borracho de Oro – Bringing a little Spanish sunshine to Edgbaston, this buzzy tapas bar and restaurant is the perfect place to linger over a glass of cava, an ice-cold Mahou Beer, and some authentic Spanish dishes.
