Welcome to the family! – New restaurants on OpenTable

The nights are getting darker and it’s turning a little cold, but don’t go into hibernation just yet. There are some fantastic new restaurants on OpenTable this month, including The Ivy’s little sister, a Japanese soul food joint in Brixton, and a superb new steakhouse in Leeds.

The Ivy Market Grill – Just a stone’s throw from Covent Garden Piazza, The Ivy’s glamorous little sister is open all day serving comfort food classics, afternoon tea, and some deliciously indulgent brunch dishes. We’re also taking bookings at The Ivy Chelsea Garden, their oh-so-chic restaurant in SW3.

Nanban – MasterChef winner Tim Anderson has opened an izakaya and ramen shop in Brixton, serving ‘Japanese soul food’ dishes like chicken karaage, miyazaki ramen, and crab rangoon age-gyoza.

Shotgun BBQ – At this Soho newcomer, the team from The Lockhart are serving Southern-inspired cocktails, lunchtime sandwiches, and top quality meat cooked low and slow on their wood-burning smoker.

CôBa – Supperclub host Damon Bui has opened a Vietnamese BBQ restaurant close to King’s Cross station. He’s serving sorbet cocktails alongside beef pho, spicy lemongrass BBQ pork, and fresh summer rolls.

Wazen – Also new in King’s Cross is Wazen, a Japanese restaurant with a fantastic sake list and a team of chefs serving beautifully presented sushi and sashimi, tempura and (our favourite) black cod.

Coming soon: You can now book a table at Foxlow Chiswick which opens on October 22nd.

Also new in London: South Ken gastropub, The Hour Glass; Spitalfields Italian, Canto Corvino; The Blues Kitchen in Brixton; Pestle, a Thai pop-up; and Mommi, a Peruvian restaurant in Clapham.

Stockdales – Already a hit with the locals, this new steak restaurant is a must-visit for meat eaters in Leeds. Choose from Josper grilled steaks, their flavour-packed Wagyu burger, or stop by on Sundays for a knock-out Sunday roast. There are meat-free dishes on offer too, and a childrens’ menu for little foodies..

Urban Cookhouse – Bringing the best of downtown New York to Manchester, Urban Cookhouse is a top spot for cocktails and all-American favourites like beef short rib, clam chowder and smoked chicken.

Maray – Perfect for lunch or a laid-back dinner, Maray serves seasonal small plates & cocktails in the heart of the Liverpool Ropewalks. Prices are refreshingly reasonable and there’s plenty of choice for vegetarians.

Chi Kitchen – The team behind Mango Tree in London have opened Chi Kitchen, a pan-Asian restaurant at Debenhams in Birmingham. Refuel after shopping with sushi, dim sum, curries, noodles and more.

Bouchon Bistrot – Enjoy fine wine and the flavours of France at this award-winning restaurant in Hexham, Northumberland. The owner was born in the Loire Valley so diners can look forward to simply cooked French dishes like duck confit, salad Lyonnaise, and a proper French onion soup with garlic croutons.
