About this restaurant

  • Great for scenic views
  • Good for special occasions
  • Neighbourhood gem
This big open space with its easy, informal mood has an open kitchen where Bryn’s team of chefs turn simple, local, seasonal ingredients into extraordinary bistro-style food. Menus are served all day by interesting people who really understand food, and there are no rules, so you can do what you like: tuck into breakfast, graze over small plates at the bar, share a Sunday feast with family, watch the sun go down with friends. Good times with good people, and no distance between you and the beach.

Food didn’t quite come up to expectations. Our starters of crab on sourdough was lovely but main course a little bland. My partner had haddock on crushed potatoes with walnut salad. The potatoes were more the texture of mash and the salad was bland. The fish was tasty. I had cheese soufflé with skinny fries. The soufflés was a bit dry and cheese sauce was nice but quickly congealed as it cooled. The fries were too skinny therefore tasteless and a side Caesar salad just boring. I didn’t find any anchovy in it despite the description saying it should be. Overall just a bit underwhelming.

Menu fairly limited but if you like fish it’s the best around. Beautifully cooked with all fresh ingredients and a fair priced wine selection

We have wanted to dine at this restaurant for ages but have not had the opportunity to do so. It was worth the wait! Everything was spot on from the availability of a table and the booking confirmation/updates etc all the way through to paying the bill. We struggled to choose from the menu as all items on offer sounded so appealing. For starters we had the salt & pepper squid, and Ham & burrata followed by the crab claw linguine. All of these dishes were amazing. Despite saying all night that we were not going to have dessert we were tempted by the sticky ginger cake with spiced wine cream & poached rhubarb. It did not disappoint! Very tasty indeed. Every staff member that we met was helpful, friendly and efficient. All round the evening was a lovely dining experience and I am sure that we will be back to dine here again.

Brilliant as always, this is our go to place for any celebration. Lovely food, reasonably priced and such a location. The man himself was also there and, though we didn’t have the opportunity to speak to him this time, it was fascinating to watch his interaction in the kitchen. Obviously a lovely bloke.
