I have never been here before, we live around 30 miles away from the restaurant so it has never been on our radar. I had left it late to book somewhere for Valentine’s Day and had to look further afield. Pleased to say that we will definitely be back! The staff very extremely friendly and attentive, the set up of the room was lovely and homely feeling. And the food, wow! All 3 courses were 10/10, absolutely faultless! Good portion sizes too and all extremely tasty! Especially the satay sauce on the starter and the toffee sauce on the pudding! I can’t wait for our next visit. Thank you all for a lovely evening!

Delicious food served by friendly, attentive staff in a relaxed atmosphere. A very dog-friendly venue. I particularly enjoyed the local scallops and my other half and I both agreed we’d never ever tasted such lovely smooth black pudding. The sticky toffee pudding is to die for! Would highly recommend and will definitely go back the next time we visit the area!

We originally booked to eat in the bar but actually ate in the residents lounge area which was much nicer. Food and service were great. There is a nice informal feel to the place which makes it great to dine in.

Overall, we had an enjoyable experience for my partner's 60th birthday. The food was very good and great value for money. It was a busy evening in the lead up to Christmas with a few big parties, and some of the staff did appear to be a bit stressed. We noticed that other tables were given bread, but we were not. When we enquired to the waitress, we were informed there was none left. This was a pity as we had some lovely sauce to mop up. We noticed that other tables still received bread and when we enquired further we got some lovely home-made bread. A small thing perhaps. Some staff were competent, even if a bit pushed, while it seemed that others would benefit from further training. There was nothing major however and we had a pleasant evening.
