I’ve visited Lurcat a few times and it’s usually a decent experience. There’s been a few hiccups the last two times I’ve been here. This time our service just wasn’t matching the reputation of the restaurant. Our server seemed to be pretty panicked and rushed the whole time. It was shocking that our tables wasn’t cleaned off between courses. Every time we’ve been here they’ve done it. My partner felt embarrassed that we were here with his parents from out of town and it wasn’t the experience we’ve had before. The appetizers and main course was amazing but the dessert was lacking. We ordered the chocolate carrot cake and that was great the the cheesecake was very misleading. It should’ve said on the menu it was cheesecake bites that were closer to a mousse or ice cream.

Usually a reliable standby for a get together, this was a huge let down. Without being notified, we were seated in the bar, as they apparently had a big party in the rest of what is an enormous space. It was loud, but the bigger issue was the service. An untrained and very uninformed waiter took care of us. He knew nothing about wine and less abut the food. Not at all up to the level we have come to expect. Perhaps a place to avoid during the holiday season?
