A truly awful experience. A one star experience as zero stars is not available. The starter of oysters was very good but from there it went downhill. Both mains and side orders came out cold, we sent one back, kept the other as we were hungry following the long wait for the main. It had clearly been left to stand in the kitchen, this was terribly confusing as there was an army of staff in the building. There seemed to be a VIP table getting lots of special treatment which meant we constantly had wait staff standing next to us as we would try to eat as multiple staff member’s would return to this table at once. Due to the restaurant already being cramped this made for a very uncomfortable experience where you as a diner were unable to relax. We tried to rescue the day with dessert but 2 bites of the dry and dense pudding was enough to call for the bill and get out of there. Such a shame as the evening started so well. Maybe management need to be aware that all customers are important not just the one table as it impacts everyone. Food very overpriced for what is on offer, wait staff were overly attentive and need to be taught to let customers breathe a little. The restaurant itself is very aesthetic and could be comfortable if not for the army of staff constantly milling around and disturbing your meal.

Reservations are a must. Crowded at the bar but much more serene in the restaurant proper. Good food reasonably priced. Seasonal menu available. We chose from both. It’s a classic. Enjoy!

This place has stood the test of time. Had our first dinner date there 36 years ago and it’s as special today as it was then.

Wonderful food and service! Everything we ordered was perfectly executed and delicious. Save room for the profiteroles. We’re always so well taken care of at Cafe Luxembourg.

It is a packed restaurant. Tables near the bar were set very close together. But what really got us so appreciative was the the hostess, after first directed us to a table squeezed in between tables, she took us to a quieter and more spacious section out of her own concern for our comfort. Kudo to the lady hostess! The food was good and the price reasonable. The gratinee French onion soup was one of the best outside of Paris, and done just right! My friend claimed that the hamburger was done just right for a medium burger. My only complaint was that the moules had a bit of. Sand inside their bellies. Mb they should look into managing to get the grits out better. All said, we will go back. Caution: very popular pace, not easy to book a table.

Excellent in every way. Elegant and warm and casual in just the right percentages. Lively but not too loud. Every dish was delicious. Happy!

Very cramped and uncomfortable chairs. If they took out a couple tables it would be more comfortable especially in the winter when there’s a lot of bulky coats. You cannot be seated until your entire party is there and there’s no where to stand. The food is good albeit expensive. The staff was very friendly, not so much the hostess.
