   We had a strange experience at Cast and Plow. We reserved a table for 4 at 6.30PM for dinner. We had to take important clients to dinner on the way to the airport. We figured this would be a nice, quiet place. Unfortunately we were having massive wild fires in LA with evacuations and the hotel was jammed pack with people who were evacuating. The restaurant was mobbed and understaffed. There was inadequate leadership at this Ritz Carlton where the restaurant is located. As a result after ordering at 7PM we still had not received our meal at 8:30. We got no feedback on the situation. Finally at 8.30, we had to leave to take our clients to the airport. At that time we were told it would be another half hour before we received the food. So we left without eating after waiting for two hours. It was a small disaster for us, not like people who had to evacuate. None the less there was no leadership at the hotel and no communication. By the time we left the restaurant was pretty much empty. It could have been handled more professionally.

However, we recognize that this impacted your important dinner and regret that we fell short of providing timely service. Your feedback is invaluable, and we are actively working on plans to improve communication and service during high-demand situations.    Beautiful view, great ambiance, excellent service, tasty food. I only wish they had more of a selection and/or would switch up their menu occassionally.

   Restaurant service by Kirsten was superb - attentive and friendly. The wine list is good and the food was very nice. A simple but adequate lunchtime menu. The bar service was a little amateurish.

   My chicken was undercooked. Mashed potatoes were watery and made a soup on my plate. Kids mashed potatoes didn’t even taste like potatoes, too much garlic or onion.
