   It was disappointing that a Calabrian restaurant was out of Nduja at a 6:30 reservation. Someone needs to tell the chef not to break the pasta when putting it in the pot, and the sauce on the Scialatielli Civico seemed watery, like it was rushed out of the kitchen. Overall, the food tasted great, and I would gladly return

   Great experience at Civico 1845. A group of our colleagues are non meat eaters and the Vegan option was a real hit. The pea protein calamari was indistinguishable from the real thing (for those that have had both). Having both meat and real vegetarian options (not just peas in noodles) made for a great experience. We loved the selection and had really enjoyed all of the food options. Only issue was with service. We had to wait a significant amount of time before we even received water. Luckily a server who wasn’t assigned to our section jumped in and provided great service. You could tell she was in scramble mode so it wasn’t as smooth as it should have been but we are incredibly appreciative of the service she did provide. I think the service issue falls on the restaurant for not being prepared. That being said we would go back again.

   The food and service were excellent. A strict vegetarian in our party ordered something that turned out to have meat in it (which was clear on the menu). Our waiter apologized even though it wasn’t his fault, removed the dish and took a new order no questions asked, and no charge for the removed order. He made us all very comfortable with the situation. Nicely done!

   Food was good but it has been better in the past. Sitting right by the entrance was loud and a bit windy. It was busy but service was still pretty good. Maybe last time eating here unless the quality improves

   Good to have a full vegan and non-vegan menu. Desserts were a highlight, but slightly disappointed with the mains.

   This is my go to restaurant for dinner meetings when I am in San Diego. It’s wonderful to have so many tasty. Vegan options. The zucchini blossoms and the Fucile were off the hook. Everyone loved their meal.

   We had a spectacular time at Civico 1845 for a Sunday night date! Having never been, we chose to make a reservation just to be sure. Upon arrival, we were seated right away and saw the restaurant was about half empty. Our table was in a cozy corner of the restaurant next to an open window - it was very peaceful and romantic. We loved the interior decor; it felt well curated and authentic without trying too hard. My husband ordered an amaretto sour and I ordered a Bellini. Both drinks were delicious! The server brought out the complimentary focaccia and pesto, both of which were super fresh and tasty. The bread was soft, chewy, and the outside was perfectly oiled and crispy. I could've eaten the pesto with a spoon. We also had the "pompette" meatball appetizer. This was just divine. Three large, perfectly cooked meatballs in a simply delicious tomato sauce with whipped ricotta. YUM! For entrees, I had the fusilli alla norma and my husband ordered the pappardelle brasato. I loved how simple my dish was, yet so full of flavor. The short rib ragu that covered my husband's pasta was so tender and again, simply delicious. Every staff member we interacted with from start to finish was friendly, kind, and attentive. We just could not believe what a great meal and time we had a Civico 1845! We are not local, so we don't know when we'll be back, which is a shame because we already are craving it again!
