   The ambiance was nice and the venue had rustic charm, but the overall experience unfortunately was underwhelming and didn’t match our expectations. The lobster bisque (which was labeled as award winning) was bad. I rarely leave harsh reviews but it was too thick, the flavor was off, and the texture was odd. Quite disappointing. The short rib was fine, a little dry, but a small portion for $47. Cocktails were good. The chocolate mousse was the star and by far the best thing we had. The servers and all staff were nice and attentive. Pianist was a nice touch. But we will not return because of the food.

   The lobster bisque was good but not hot enough; prime rib lacked flavor, juice in plate was more like water than gravy - poured it onto a side plate; green beans too crunchy. Ice cream Sunday delicious. Dining area nicely upgraded 👍 staff & service perfect

   I love Clay Hill Farm. The ambiance is lovely! The wait staff is excellent! The lobster bisque is the BEST!! We also had the short rib which was very tender and tasty!! It was a perfect night out!!

   Excellent dinner experience and the music and musicians were perfect. It was snowing so the fireplace seating was romantic

   A beautiful setting, very professional staff, and delicious food. Live music is a rare treat. Our only suggestion is that there could be a few more vegetarian options.

   The restaurant had a wonderful ambience with live piano and the service was immaculate. The food from apps all the way to dessert were some of the best I’ve had anywhere. Our waiter was super attentive. I would go back for the spinach artichoke dip alone.

   There are very few restaurants that give you first class service and great food. Clay Hill fits the bill. It is the romantic date night spot. It is also a spot to catch up with friends. In full disclosure our daughter had a beautiful reception at Clay Hill 10 years ago. The staff was wonderful, food and ambiance were perfect and everyone had a great time. I recommend Clay Hill Farm any chance I get!

   We celebrated New Year's Eve at Clay Hill Farm with my parents visiting from Michigan, and it was an unforgettable experience. The ambiance was elegant yet cozy, perfect for a special evening. We chose from the à la carte menu, and each dish was exceptional. Highlights included the perfectly cooked prime rib. My parents raved about the roasted duck, which was flavorful and tender. The sides, from roasted vegetables to creamy mashed potatoes, complemented the main dishes perfectly. Service was impeccable—attentive, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. The atmosphere made for a relaxed, yet refined New Year’s celebration, complete with champagne at midnight. Clay Hill Farm is a true gem, offering top-notch cuisine and a memorable experience. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Maine!

    Riding on their coat tails. The place is getting old and needs renovation. It's still a beautiful building and the approach is awesome. We went New Years Eve. They had a special menu for 125.00 which was the same menu we had a la carte earlier in the evening. Started off fine with a great martini.Wife asked for a French 75 and the lady server was clueless. She was all business. I asked her to speak to the bartender who knew it well as it seems like a very well nown drink Then came the spinach salad which was a very small portion. Even the server looked embarrassed. He said he would make it good, by bringing me another salad and together they made up one regular sized portion. The salad was very good. Then came the crab stuffed haddock. The haddock had no discercible crab I could see or taste. The fish was overcooked and dry, a mistake often made and it was not hot. My pet peeve.It came with a side of while glop they called lobster mashed potatoes. no lobster could be found and it was disgusting. The bill was over $200.00 and a total rip off. We don't mind paying for good experiences in restaurant , but this was simply awful.
