About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Good for groups
Family-owned and operated for more than 116 years, Columbia has earned acclaim for its old-world charm and award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine.

Casual attire is fine, but we don’t allow sleeveless shirts on men in the dining room.

Join us for century-old family recipes like Paella "a la Valenciana," Roast Pork "a la Cubana," and fresh seafood specialties.

Don’t miss Columbia’s Original “1905” Salad®, prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a 100-year-old family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil.

Be sure to sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo. Relax in our courtyard or Mediterranean-style dining rooms, filled with hundreds of hand-painted tiles and Spanish-style fountains.

We are a sister to the Columbia in Tampa's Ybor City, founded in 1905. Children's menu available. Open 365-days a year, including all holidays.

Great food! The 1905 salad did not disappoint. Our service was excellent and the main dishes were very good. We sat in the first room on the right. It was so loud in there that we could not have a conversation. Will go back, but this time, will call for reservations and try another table location.

Excellent dinner! We were seated upstairs in a little alcove area of just three tables. It was lovely and quieter than the main areas. Food was great. Service top tier. Definitely make a reservation. The place is huge, but also very popular.

Specifically reserved an upper floor table which was confirmed by the restaurant and instead were placed in an area on the ground floor that was like a family section. Server was overwhelmed and lacked attention to detail (brought one water not two, did not refill beverages). Palomilla steak was good but everything else was disappointing and underwhelming. Couple beside us from Michigan expressed dissatisfaction too (same server).

We tried something different than the standard Cuban fit our second visit, which is always good. We started off with the 1905 salad. We had the Boliche and Lechon for our entrees; both were delicious! We split the White Chocolate Bread Pudding four ways, which we saw on our last visit but were too full to order; it tasted as good as it looked. Our server, Bridget, was very attentive and knowledgeable.

Amazing food. I had the grouper. My wife had some paella. Wine selection was really good. The Spanish chardonnay we selected was really good.

Excellent food. And so there is no misunderstanding, we will be back. Unfortunately, despite being a fairly slow day at the St Augustine location, the staff sat nearly all customers right next to each other. My chair was against the wall, my right elbow 3 feet from the next table and my wife, seated even closer to yet another table. Rediculous , considering there were groups of 20 to 25 empty tables in our immediate vicinity which would have allowed customers to have some separation. As new customers arrived, it got even more packed right around us. When I informed the staff upon my departure, only one apologized while the other two ladies at the hostess desk looked bewildered at my observation.

Restaurant ambience is nice, a little noisy. Service was good. Unfortunately the meal was not expected. Started out with the bean soup which were undercooked garbanzo beans in a light broth. We also had the pinchos which were overcooked and shrimp and scallops which were small and very little flavor. Our entrees, Picadillo was a bit salty for my taste and while my husband's chicken and rice was flavorful the chicken was overcooked. If we had picked something else we may have had better luck but will probably not go back.

10/10. Great food, great atmosphere and great service. We had meat eaters and vegetarians at our table and everyone was very happy. We loved Danica who looked after us. She was terrific!
