About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Good for groups
Family-owned and operated for more than 116 years, Columbia has earned acclaim for its old-world charm and award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine.

Casual attire is fine, but we don’t allow sleeveless shirts on men in the dining room.

Join us for century-old family recipes like Paella "a la Valenciana," Roast Pork "a la Cubana," and fresh seafood specialties.

Don’t miss Columbia’s Original “1905” Salad®, prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a 100-year-old family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil.

Be sure to sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo. Relax in our courtyard or Mediterranean-style dining rooms, filled with hundreds of hand-painted tiles and Spanish-style fountains.

We are a sister to the Columbia in Tampa's Ybor City, founded in 1905. Children's menu available. Open 365-days a year, including all holidays.

Food was great but our service was poor. Took forever for anyone to come to our table and the waitress was extremely slow. Others brought our drinks and food. Other tables were having same issues with our server.

We were really looking forward to coming to this restaurant because of it’s history. We were seated and were waited on immediately. Their menu listed vegetarian dishes but said nothing about gluten free. I had to ask the waitress and she went through the menu and told me what was gluten free. For someone who has celiac, I did not feel comfortable ordering at this restaurant. We ordered drinks and appetizers and were immediately asked if we were ready to order our entrees. We felt extremely rushed throughout the meal as if they wanted us out quickly. I also have colitis and I got very sick after my meal of a salad and the Jimmy grouper. The salad and entree were doused in oil. We spent $150 for this meal and we will not be back. It felt like a high end fast food restaurant.

The grouper dish was COLD. Returned it and it appears it was microwaved. It was rubbery. The Sangria was very good and so was the shrimp ajillo.

Came here on the last night of my honeymoon. We waited over an hour. Then we were told our table is ready. We walked over to our table to find it was already occupied and we would have to wait longer. At this time we left as we could see MULTIPLE people had the same experience happening to them. It was very disappointing and honestly kinda ruined the night for us:(

Wow. We completely failed, Karriey. Please DM your contact information. We'd like our corporate chief of operations to speak with you. Nothing you described was anywhere close to our pinnacle of excellence.

All four in our party were celebrating a birthday and they thoughtfully brought little individual flan desserts with a candle in them for each of us and…they sang Happy Birthday in Spanish. This was so appreciated!!

We dine here often and it’s always excellent all around. It’s especially fun with a group at a large table near the fountain.
