   Frequently recommended by friends, we had high expectations. We weren’t disappointed. Booked for lunch which we throughly enjoyed. We ordered off the 2 course for 20 pounds or 3 courses for 25 pounds. The portions were more than adequate well cooked and presented. Being the Xmas season the restraunt was full but the service level didn’t suffer. We will be returning.

   Regularly visit Crown and Sandys, Ombersley. Never had a bad meal. Great, friendly, professional staff. Tasty food, lots of choices , good ales and wines. Ample car parking. Been to several events eg Weddings, christening, wakes and birthday celebrations always a memorable experience. Keep up the good work.

   Experience was very mixed! The two meat eaters loved their whole meal and rated it very highly, extremely tasty and well presented. Sadly as a vegetarian it was very disappointing. I do eat fish but am allergic to shellfish. All fish dishes were out except fish and chips as everything had some sort of shellfish, the hake which I could have had without the sauce had meat in its scotch egg. There are vegetarian option, provided you like beetroot as everything seemed to have beetroot or shellfish and I hate beetroot!

   Everything except the actual meal was lovely. I was really disappointed in the meal as it appeared to be a reheat rather than a freshly prepared meal, so it was a bit of an anti climax, as it wasn’t even piping hot. From looking around the restaurant the al la carte food options looked much more appealing . Based on today’s experience I would not choose to have another Xmas lunch .

   We had the Christmas menu and although very tasty the food was only just warm when we received it. The glazed carrots and turnips with the lamb meal were disappointing as there were only 2 small carrots and 3 small pieces of turnip however, the vegetable portions on the turkey dinners were better. The chocolate torte for dessert was delicious but very hard although the cherry ice cream and compote were lovely. The restaurant was really busy but the service was good and the staff were friendly. I have eaten here many times and this was not the best meal I have had but it won't put me off going again, I'll just avoid Christmas!
