Best American Restaurants in Sussex

Second time visiting. Food was great. Only had one issue with the one steak being well done when asked for medium well. They butterflied the steak for medium well and couldn’t understand why. Waiter was kind enough to take back. Brought back steak that was well done. We hate to make a fuss. The manager was so kind and came over to our table. We know things happen and to correct them you have to say something. The meal was great…don’t get me wrong. The manager was so very nice, the waiter was as well. We will still go back in the future. Just refreshing to know that a place can make things right after two issues. As for my meal, I had a chicken platter that was unbelievable. Overall wonderful experience.

Such a fun family night thank you. We enjoyed the new menu from start to finish. The menu paying homage to other restaurants is a delight and the WI touches duly noted (Schlitz on tap!) There are whispers of supper club but this is way too elevated for that. Service was charming and helpful. The backdrop of Jay’s decor, again so evocative of WI and the WI art is so appreciated. It all frames the food and the experience so well.

Fantastic place, as always. Can't beat the cinnamon roll during brunch - WOW.

The setting was casual and elegant simultaneously - laid back white table cloth. Our server was knowledgeable and observant without hovering - well done. Our cocktails were delicious, well made. Side spinach and feta salads were of an appropriate size and made from fresh ingredients. Our entrees - scallops over risotto and pan fried whitefish - were fantastic. Well done - thumbs up!

Excellent food and service! The French onion soup was amazing. The filet was one of the best steaks I've ever had.
