We had some issues with several of the dishes. In particular it seemed the kitchen, on this occasion, struggled to deliver fish dishes that were not far too overcooked - not great when you're asking for things to be rare or medium. And even if you're not asked (as was the case with one of these dishes) they should not be prepared like that. First time here and whilst not a great fan of the low tables and chairs we had an enjoyable time. Until... ca 2.45pm when all of the restaurant, literally every table, became an afternoon tea party. That drastically changes the end of a lunch experience and not for the better. We decided against having a pudding and more wine and fled the scene. Shame. Standout service delivered by Valentina.

From the minute we arrived at Humphrey's Bar and Brasserie the staff were very professional and helpful. We were shown to our table which was all laid out with a pristine tablecloth and lovely crockery. I had pre-booked an afternoon tea for two people with a "Buy a Gift Voucher". They were very accommodating with regards one afternoon tea being gluten free, the other a normal afternoon tea. (I had previously been in contact via email with Wan to discuss my needs. Wan was super helpful. Thank you). When the food arrived it was all very fresh and the selection of sandwiches, cakes, scones that was on offer was superb. My gluten free tea was lovely and the bread actually tasted like normal bread and wasn't like cardboard, which was an added bonus. My voucher didn't include any other drinks apart from the tea and coffee included with the voucher. This was no problem and you could purchase separately and then pay upon leaving. The staff were very attentive, whether it be to refill our glasses with our prosecco, or to provide more tea/coffee if needed. It was a very relaxing afternoon in lovely surroundings. Good ambience. We were not rushed in any way. I would highly recommend going to Humphreys bar and brasserie for afternoon tea. Thank you so much to the staff who served us. My friend and I had a fantastic afternoon.
