Best Californian Restaurants in Sparks

An exceptional meal in a lovely setting. The four of us dined liked kings at Christy Hill. We started with four delicious appetizers and liked the tuna crudo and brussel sprouts best. Highlights of our main dishes were the black cod and the lamb. Loved that the food was served on warm plates. And we finished with the chocolate croissant bread Pudding. Delicious! Service was impeccable.

We have dined at Roxy many times, in fact every time we’ve been to Reno. This time however, it was probably the best meal yet. My wife had a lobster tail with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus. I had the filet with their glazed carrots. We enjoyed several glasses of Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon with our meal. Dessert was an affogato and we each had a Cafe’ Diablo prepared table side. Absolutely amazing! It’s why we keep coming back!

Bryan was our friendly and personable server. They even have a placard with your name on it placed on your table. Their complimentary bread basket is a treat in itself. The cotton candy at the end turns everyone into a giggling child!

Gar Woods was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We sat at a window overlooking the lake with a beautiful Christmas tree nearby. Our food was delicious and we had very good cocktails with a large list to choose from. They have a very good food menu to choose from-from burgers and sandwiches to prime rib and fish. Our server was very sweet and kind but she must have had a lot of tables because we waited long stretches to get her attention to get more drinks and dessert. But it was Christmas and the place was packed. We will definitely go back again.

Excellent service by all staff, and great food. Loved the variety of dishes on the menu.
