Best Contemporary American Restaurants in Fitchburg

Took some friends who had never been before...they absolutely loved it! It's one of our favorite restaurants, and we HIGHLY recommend the Jambalaya and the Mort's Pot Roast!!!!!

Food and cocktails are always good here. The sausage and shishito pepper dish is great. the staff is very friendly and helpful.

The food and drinks were fantastic - this place should be busier for brunch!

Once again, the Statehouse delivered an exceptional experience from start to finish. We brought two out-of-town couples to the New Year's Day brunch. Our original table was so close to the live band that we would have had difficulty talking with each other; we inquired about possibly being reseated and were immediately and graciously accommodated (even though we were a party of 6). Service was extremely attentive and efficient, without ever making us feel rushed. Having not seen each other for over a year, our group also lingered past the official morning seating close without incident. And of course, the food: heaping portions beautifully presented. The french toast and the pancakes were particular stand-outs! The Statehouse never disappoints -- the food, the service, the view, and the overall ambience are unparalleled in Madison!

It's rare to dine these days where one can easily hear the conversation at the table, even though the dining tables were full. Seafood Risotto, the Giardinia Chicken and the Walleye were delicious, hot, well presented. We'll be back.
