A Michelin Star Romance in Carlsbad: David and I recently indulged in not one, but two incredible dinners this week at Jeune et Jolie, our favorite culinary escape in Carlsbad. And yes, we did briefly entertain the idea of sneaking in a third visit—though we joked with our server Kyle that it might veer into “too much of a good thing” territory. (Let’s be honest, there’s no such thing when it comes to Jeune et Jolie.) This restaurant continues to deliver an experience that’s polished yet effortlessly comfortable. The menu is a masterclass in balance, with each dish more inventive and satisfying than the last. The wine list? A delight. The sommelier’s thoughtful recommendations added a whole new dimension to our meal, pairing perfectly with the flavors while making us feel like connoisseurs (we’re not, but we’ll take it). The service, as always, struck just the right note—attentive without hovering, warm without overstepping. Kyle and the rest of the team make you feel like old friends, creating an easy, elevated vibe that feels personal but never pretentious. The space itself remains a jewel: sophisticated, lively, and effortlessly chic. Dining here feels like being part of a well-kept secret, even with the Michelin star glittering proudly in the background. Reservations through OpenTable were smooth (thank you for that!) and a lifesaver, given the popularity of this spot. It’s no surprise Jeune et Jolie is a North County San Diego darling—it’s intimate, innovative, and worth every bite. We’ll be back—probably sooner than we should admit. For now, we’ll revel in the memory of those two perfect dinners, knowing a third visit isn’t entirely out of the question. Cheers to the entire team!

Wonderful experience Seated at the bar as requested because of Wilson, who makes the best drinks in San Diego hands down. Best Martinis shaken with vigor and a smile. Great selection of French wines by the glass and fun conversations. Not to mention Muscles and frites served on Tuesday nights are the best I have had locally.
