Best Contemporary Italian Restaurants in Wheaton

Carmines has become a Christmas tradition and yesterday didn’t disappoint. We had plenty of delicious food, a waitress who was attentive but not overbearing. a table that allowed for conversation and time to enjoy our dinner.

Claudio’s Table is fantastic!! Real authentic Italian which can easily compete with food in Italy! Pasta is homemade and delicious! The pizza has an amazing crust and is oven baked to perfection. They even had soft serve gelato…Yum! Loved our server as well. Food came out fast and he was very attentive. Love this restaurant.

This place is about food first. The service is also superb. The pasta and risioto are amazing and among the best you will ever taste. The food is lovely and beautifully made. The wine list is very extensive. Service is superb. We had one minor issue which was addressed promptly and thoroughly. This is not a white table restaurant. It’s a neighborhood gem. People are here having a good time, just as you would expect from a small place in Tuscany.

Really lovely meal! Nice holiday decor! Great service and we were lucky to have seats that viewed the kitchen! The noise level was excellent and we didn’t have to shout to have a conversation. I tried the Meatball ragu over the vegetable noodles—honestly one of my favorite Italian dishes of all time!

The food was fantastic. You could tell everything was made fresh and extremely authentic. The flavors were out of this world. The staff was extremely familiar with the menu, and had spot on recommendations. This is the best Italian food in the District.
