The Christmas lunch menu is varied and good value at £35. The vol au vent followed by cod tasted delicious however the main course was a little cold. My friend enjoyed the vegan menu. - HHerbertNewcastle and Northumberland •1 review5.0Dined 6 days agoA lovely warm welcome and a birthday card from the staff sitting on our table. The Christmas menu was varied and interesting but the standout plate for me had to be the herb crusted trout.Absolutely delicious and so beautifully orchestrated in terms of flavours, textures and presentation. On the down side the ice cream( cinnamon?) on my apple and almond crumble was very odd.Gluey and unpalatable with little to recommend it. More almond in the crumble would have been nice too. The fudge was “candy” like , sugary and grainy but I was still very impressed, as I usually am, with the experience that is Blackfriars.More infoBlackfriars RestaurantPrice: Expensive• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.6
