- JJenniferDetroit / Eastern Michigan •2 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoWhat a true and absolute delight! My daughters and I loved La Grande Boucherie! It was one of the highlights of our recent Chicago visit. The food was wonderful, as were the wine selections (and mocktails!) and the beautiful holiday decor. We had oysters, the fromage board, a beautiful salmon, French Onion soup, salads and more. I had a lovely Sancerre, and we topped everything off with profiteroles. But the best part of the experience was the impeccable service. From the moment we left our coats at the front hosted stand to the last moments after dessert and a quick personal tour of the gorgeous second level, we were enchanted. A special thank you to Rachid from Paris for his terrific recommendations, allowing us to practice French and being a bright spot of our entire trip. Attentive, funny, kind! A server can make or break a restaurant experience, and in this case, the service shined bright! We would love to come back when we’re in the city again! Highly enjoyed!More infoLa Grande Boucherie - ChicagoPrice: Very Expensive• French• River North (Chicago)•4.6

We used to go to the Oak Brook location but now we finally got to visit the one in Chicago. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that this was the original one. It’s a classic French bistro fare with amazing servers and food. I highly recommend the steak and frites! make sure to get your reservation early because we had to dine at 4:45 PM due to later dinner times not being availableMore infoMon Ami GabiPrice: Moderate• French• Lincoln Park•4.8

It seems like restaurants do not offer anything special for these occasions any more. Their nod to the occasion was a candle on top of the dessert (which we paid for). Underwhelmed.More infoBistronomicPrice: Moderate• French• Gold Coast / Streeterville•4.9

George at the bar is awesome. Craft cocktails are pretty and tasty. I appreciate the complimentary hot bread that you often can’t get anymore. The tuna Crudo is the best I’ve ever had in my life. Highly recommend! I would love to eat that every day and I would love to know the sauce that it is swimming in because it is absolutely incredible!!! The escargot is good, nice garlicky sauce and I appreciate they give you bread for dipping. Love the apple kale salad with feta cheese. Generous portion, tastes Perfect! I’ve enjoyed many entrées at previous visits which were all fantastic, as well. The pasta with lemony clam sauce is delicious. (Wanna try the bacon pasta next time). Can’t go wrong with pretty much anything there. Re desserts: LOVE the bruleed French toast.and the bread pudding - both with gelato. A cappuccino to end the night. ALL fantastic! ! Only thing I’d change: for tables of 2, one has to look at the booth wall. Maybe consider repositioning tables (and yes I know many Restos have same problem) or angle mirror above booth side so regardless of seat, all diners can see the beautiful lively room.More infoLa SerrePrice: Expensive• French• West Loop•4.6
