Best Global Restaurants in Beltline

It is always lovely to visit Highwood; the culinary students are doing a great job. The menu are well presented by the server, who is always kind and polite. The food presentation was spot-on and beautiful. I had the salad Nicoise / Spinach dip and a Mushroom pizza, and all tasted good. The only comment I would have today is the Mushroom pizza was a bit on the dry side, and my "personal" choice is always to give the mushroom a quick saute before adding to the pizza, but it was ok. Not the last visit :-)

Our server Mackenzie and her helpers were outstanding. They were attentive and tuned in to our drink and dinner orders. We couldn't have asked for better service. The ambience was great except for the thump! thump! thump! of the background "music", not really music, but more like just noise. We asked for it to be turned down by the person in charge, and it was, which helped a bit.

We attended a wine paired dinner with Terrasole. The drinks and wine were really done well. The meat was cooked really well too. However, when you make Carpaccio and dump a ton of salad and a pound of grated cheese on top of it, you loose the taste of the Carpaccio. I had to dig out the meat and waste great cheese and half a salad patch. FAIL The Gnocchi were not Gnocchi. FAIL The Gorgonzola Polenta was the most ridiculous Polenta I have ever had. My companion thought it was mashed potatoes. Polenta is a corn based staple famous in Northern Italy and made into a dense bread. In middle Italy it can be more creamy. The Polenta served was a disaster. I will return, but I won't be ordering any Italian food that has been destroyed.
