Best Indian Restaurants in Speen

We have a twixmas tradition that we enjoy the festive set menu as a family at Sindhu. The location is stunning on the banks of the river Thames at Marlow. Looking out onto the cold wintery scene from a warm cosy restaurant is a wonderful experience. The food is always amazing with a great choice and gorgeous flavours. The service is always first class and the staff really are attentive to my aging parents which is lovely. I would highly recommend the restaurant 110%.

My five stars don’t get awarded easily, I can assure you! This was something to talk about. It’s only the second time in my life I’ve eaten food at a 2* Michelin chef’s establishment and I beg all readers to do it at least once. Do without, eat frugally, don’t buy birthday or Christmas presents, check down the back of the settee, beg or borrow, find the funds somehow, but go! Scallops that were sumptuous and meltingly tender, the aubergine main that held mystery and interest to the last and dessert was a drama in itself! As with the other time I ate so well, it was impossible to name any one ingredient in any of these offerings, so clever and skilled was the thought, experience and preparation. The service didn’t go unnoticed either, the perfect approach – professionalism, knowledge and a willingness to serve. We had a vegan in our party and she was served with choices adapted specially, beautifully and readily and swooned as much as any of the rest of us! I thank everyone of those involved for the memorable experience. Food is often forgotten once you’re out of the restaurant, not here. I can still conjure the exceptional array of flavours and textures. This lunch made my Christmas and has now started a tradition so expect us next year!

a game changer for anyone tired of traditional christmas lunch , this was perfect and we will return next year . highly recommended .

We had an exceptional dinner experience for 2 . Very modern setting and stunning lake view. Service attentive and warm . We tried both the restaurant menus ( British & Indian) and all dishes were superb - to start we tried the cured ham hock and pistachio roulade, and the Tandoori murg tikka. Both dishes were fresh and very flavourful and delicious. Main courses we tried the chargrilled Sirloin steak with bernaise and delicious hand cut truffle chips, and the bhuna gosht slow cooked lamb with spices - fabulous and just the right level of spice. The Bitter Chocolate tart with caramel ice cream, and the passion fruit cheesecake were the perfect sweet end to the meal. Highly recommend and will definitely visit Glaze Restaurant again.
