Best Italian Restaurants in Gloucester

Went to this restaurant for a date. Upon arrival, the waitress was very kind and got us seated fairly quickly. The ambiance and atmosphere of the place was magnificent and gave a very romantic mood. I have to say, the lighting was very dim but in a good way that gave the perfect vibe for the date to set the mood. We were seated at a small table which included a real burning candle and a rose which smelled amazing. Although the tables are very close together and the noise level was fairly loud when we arrived, it was still a great mood and experience overall. The music which played in the background was R&B. As for the food, I had the Spaghetti Pomodoro and my date had the Spaghetti Meatballs. We were not disapointed with the quality of the food and the price. The food tastes fantastic and the prices are just right. Our waitress was also very attentive and consistently refilled our waters and took our orders for dinner and dessert at the right times. Overall, Cantina Gia is a fantastic restaurant for a romantic evening with that special someone. It does not disappoint.

Incredible hospitality and food — can’t wait to visit again!

First off, you need to order the mussels, because they are just like Nonna made them. The marinara mussels are going to make you ask for more bread, you’ll want to soak up all the sauce (don’t say I didn’t warn you) I ordered the salmon, it was delicious, my wife ordered the chicken parm and couldn’t finished it, it was great and now I have lunch for today. Didn’t have any room but we decided on double espressos and tiramisu, somehow there was room for it! If you can, ask for Stefanos he’s an amazing server and a great guy! I spoke Italian to him throughout the entire dinner and then found out he’s Greek and just happens to know Italian among many other languages. Talented guy right here! Very attentive and it was a pleasure to share limoncello shots at the end. You gotta eat here!

The taste of the food was great however the choices are limited to a two page menu. If you're in the downtown area during the week, it's easily accessible via the O-Train. During weekends, it's easier to get there by car as there is plentiful parking space in the underground parking space of the Delta Hotel. I wish they would offer parking validation in the restaurant though.
