The lighting, music and decorations makes it feel like a very cozy and appropriate place to have a date night or even a birthday celebration. If you really like Peruvian food and know about it, look no further for the best Ceviche in the city, it is perfectly balanced, fresh and flavorful. In addition to the Ceviche, we ordered some causas which the server explained that are part of their newest additions, and I can’t explain to you how amazing the blend of all the flavors tasted like, 10/10! For the mains we had the beef short ribs and the octopus Anticuchero and both are a must try! The beef short ribs practically melts in your mouth combined with a perfectly balanced sauce. The octopus was good size and so fresh and it really went well with the cauliflower puree, perfect blend of flavors! Service was attentive and very nice, they take their time explaining their concept and how they include fusion into their menu. Produce is freshly brought from Peru and they only use real vegetables and fruits for their recipes, which I was extremely impressed and would explain the freshness out of everything. Last but not least, the cocktails were 10/10. I find it hard to find a restaurant that truly cares about the preparation of drinks. All of the ingredients are made in house (syrups, shrubs, juices, chicha morada). Can’t miss out on their Pisco Sours nor their own creation of drinks. Their cocktail menu also wraps up a great dining experience.More infoNUNA KITCHEN & BARPrice: Expensive• Peruvian• Parkdale•4.7

Cocktails to start were beautifully made and delicious, with Pisco being the alcohol of choice for most of their cocktail menu. Had Anticuchos and their Ceviche Mixto for apps, and they were fantastic. Beef medallions cooked perfectly, wonderfully seasoned with an aji verde on the side for dipping. The Ceviche was incredible as well, flavourful and perfect spice level Mains were all magnificent, I had the duck breast which was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The rice pairing with the duck had beautiful texture, flavourful, spicy and rich. Can't wait to go back.More infoPisac Peruvian BistroPrice: Expensive• Peruvian• The Annex•4.8
- MSMilenaSToronto / Ontario •5 reviews5.0Dined on 9 Nov 2024Our first visit to Chotto Matte was an unforgettable sensory experience that began the moment we stepped through the doors. Greeted warmly by the reception staff, we were immediately drawn into the vibrant ambiance—splashes of color, alluring lighting, and mellow DJ beats created an atmosphere that felt both sophisticated and inviting. Our server, Alice, was exceptional, her knowledge of the menu and genuine enthusiasm enriching our experience. We chose the Nikkei Menu Deluxe ($175 per person, with an optional wine pairing) and were treated to a carefully curated array of dishes: Shishito Peppers, Yellowtail “Nikkei Sashimi,” Toro Nigiri, Dragon Roll, Jumbo Shrimp Tempura, BBQ Huacatay Broccolini, Tentáculos De Pulpo, Black Cod Aji Miso, and Australian Grade 8-9 Wagyu. Each dish was beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and executed with precision. The freshness of the ingredients stood out, while each bite offered a delightful complexity that reflected the restaurant’s fusion of Japanese and Peruvian influences. Alice took the time to describe each dish’s unique elements and frequently checked in to make sure we were enjoying every moment. Her attentiveness, combined with Hassan’s (the General Manager) thoughtful hospitality, made us feel well cared for throughout the meal, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the experience. Chotto Matte is a must-visit for anyone looking for a dynamic dining experience. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!More infoChotto Matte TorontoPrice: Very Expensive• Japanese• Financial District•4.8
