Best Pubs in Claydon

My partner and I had lunch at the Red Lion on Saturday 14th December. We chose this pub as it was fairly near the station and offered real ale. We really enjoyed our meal - I chose the pork and my partner had a burger. Both were really nicely cooked and very tasty. Plus sticky toffee pudding to finish! We were seated in the conservatory, which was very pleasant with nice views over the river. Service was attentive but not intrusive. The total for 2 mains, 2 puddings, 2 cold drinks and 2 hot drinks was £70 before service, which I considered good value overall. The pub was busy but we did not feel under any pressure to vacate our table. The only slight negatives were the dog treats on the floor under our table and a loud person sitting behind us. The latter is not the pub's fault, of course! In summary we would definitely visit again and would recommend the pub to others.

Wonderful lunch with friends. Service excellent and the staff extremely attentive and friendly. Lunch was excellent and the portions were generous. Would definitely recommend and will go there again.

It’s always a pleasure to come to the Kings Head whether for a drink or a meal. Food is excellent as is the service.

We went on Mother’s Day and had a very nice meal, the service was amazing and the staff were brilliant.
