Best Seafood Restaurants in E. Kansas City

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at McCormick & Schmick’s on a busy Friday night. We were seated promptly in a comfy booth. We always enjoy the atmosphere of this restaurant with its lovely, backlit stained glass dome, beautiful deck/Asian inspired stain glass screen that separates the bar areas and the dining area, and large, Chihuly-like glass vases set on the second level surround. Even better than the ambiance, the food did not disappoint. We were both attracted to seafood pasta. My husband loved the scampi pasta and it looked decilious. I went on The Voyage - the lobster pasta plus a nicely made Caesar salad. Our seafood and pasta were perfectly cooked. If the pasta isn’t fresh, it comes very close and was a perfect al dente. Our server, Augustine, took great care of us without being intrusive. He made sure I liked anchovies when I ordered the Caesar (I do!) and kindly provided additional Parmesan cheese when we requested it. A great date night on the Plaza!

Wonderful meal and the most beautiful setting - Pierpont’s is a great place for a special dinner celebration. We all had steaks and they were fabulous! Love the black truffle butter as an addition to the filet.

This our 3rd trip to Ocean Prime celebrating our anniversary. Every time it has been excellent. Bree was our server and she was great! We both started with drinks. I tried the Berries n Bubbles and my husband had the Smoked Old Fashioned. I had the Lobster Bisque to start, and it was delicious. For our main entrees, I had the Wagyu filet and he had the Rib Eye. Both were cooked to perfection. We shared the Smoked Gouda tater tots and the corn. Since it was our anniversary we got to pick a dessert on the house. We have a tradition going back to the beginning of our marriage to always pick the creme brulee. And it was outstanding as well.

What can I say? Another wonderful happy hour with my soon to be daughter in law! It was her first time, and she loved it. We shared the oysters Rockefeller, some raw oysters, the beet salad, and filet sliders. She had a special cocktail that impressed her. Wow! Love the music, JERRY the awesome guy at the front desk, the free valet, the entire wait staff, and the little special touches that made her birthday special. THANKS Jerry!

Service was fantastic! We were there at 530 on a Sat and the noise level was perfect. I could see it being very loud in there though. The food was outstanding. We had steak and multiple seafood items. Oh and dumplings for an appetizer and creme brulee for dessert. Pricey but very much worth it
