Best Southern American Restaurants in Riverside

3rd time there and everything was amazing! Our server really enhanced our dining experience!

What an unexpected and pleasant surprise this restaurant was, nestled within the old Eagle Tavern. The ambience and decor really aligned with the broader theme of a southern farm to table kitchen. The cocktails were spectacular, especially if you like whiskey, because they have an incredible selection. The sweet potato hush puppies were perfectly fried, and the honey and sauce were delicious. We ordered the short rib and salmon, and the chef was able to make adjustments to the vegetables to address an allergy issue. Both plates were licked completely clean because everything was absolutely delicious. We also got the skillet cornbread and while it was two cut slices on a skillet and not an actual skillet, the flavor was delicious. The only adjustment I would suggest there is the butter was chilled, which made it hard to spread. I wasn’t as excited about the dessert selection but honestly, I didn’t need dessert because the meal was just spectacular. Special shout out to our server, Maddie, who was perfectly attentive without being ever present.

The Twisted Tail delivered an unforgettable birthday celebration. Warm hospitality, exceptional service, live music, and a cozy ambiance complemented perfectly cooked dishes like barbecue ribs, jumbo shrimp, and crawfish mac and cheese. Thoughtful touches, like surprise birthday beignets, added to the charm. Great food, drinks, and value—I can’t wait to return!

This place was awesome. It's quaint and friendly like you are at home. The service was quick and the staff was friendly. The food was top tier. The fried chicken was excellent, light and crispy! It's a cute spot to grab something to eat with your friends.

The drinks and smoothies were healthy, tasty and not too sweet. The food was good. Our server Brandon was very personable, and we enjoyed our time.
