    We have lived in the New Orleans area for over 25 years and have dined at many excellent restaurants, mostly in the French Quarter. I have always heard good things about Mr. John’s but never had tried it. We are glad we did! I had the Gulf Catch of the day (sheepshead) and it was superb! My wife had the petite filet, which was prepared perfectly (exactly as she requested) with truffle butter. Amazing! We shared a shrimp cocktail for an appetizer and the unique presentation was flavorful and well-presented. The atmosphere is very old style Italian and you feel like you’re in a movie set in New York. Finally, a shout out to our server, Lloyd. He was funny and personable and everything was served quickly, but not rushed. Great experience! We will definitely be back!

    We had a wonderful Christmas dinner! We decided to split a bunch of apps and everything was DELICIOUS! Favorites were the crawfish bread and crab spinach dip. Our waitress was so nice and made the whole experience for us! We were on the second floor with a gorgeous view of the Mississippi River & with a giant Christmas tree sparkling beautifully out from the other window! Highly Recommend!

    This is a very upscale steak house. The service was impeccable. While it is very pricy, the food was delicious, perfect low lighting and general ambiance was relaxing. Glad we made reservations through Open Table!

    We had a great dinner last night. We seem to always get sat in the outdoor extension. Would be nice to be in the main dining area. Steaks were delicious, tuna app was awesome. Service was good. Manager didn’t make anyone feel welcome. As we were leaving not one person said thank you or good bye including the main manager. I had to say Merry Christmas before anyone acknowledged us leaving the restaurant. Prices are extremely high!! Lots of other great options in the City for steaks and seafood that will save you lots of money!! $450 including tip for 3 people.
